Man dies in Montebello after handling illegal firework that exploded

I know those guys are probably in shock as to what they saw but their energy is being wasted screaming at police and firemen. Gotta put that energy into preventing dumb sh*t from happening to begin with.

For anyone who really wants to know what happened. (I got a firefighter friend who responded to this). A man was launching a mortar. He decided it would be a smart idea to hold the mortar straight up in the air with his hands rather than leaving it on the ground. As he lit the mortar up in the air, the bottom of it blew out and lodged itself within his chest. Due to that, the mortar shell (or firework) was only launched a few feet in the air before promptly exploding in his face. As a result, he suffered severe burns and lacerations to his upper body along with whatever injury from the blowout.

I don't see anyone sending prayers for this man. It's funny to me that prayers aren't sent on all deaths. Having said that, it must have been some serious explosives to kill a man. I used to light off on the 4th all night long. Now being older I dont care for it and I understand the neighbors frustration
