HELLO FRIENDS! We're diving back into travel content with a trip to Jules' Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, FL - a completely underwater hotel 20 feet below the surface! We saw this thing online, and decided we had to go - so we headed over to Florida and scuba'd (for the first time ever) our way down to the lodge, and then stayed there overnight. What do you think of this thing? Would you spend the night under the sea?

  • Honestly a series of Odd hotels just sounds so fitting for this channel. I would love that.
  • Safiya!!! My grandfather is one of the scientists that lived in that lodge! I had no idea they had a tribute like this and it’s so cool!! I’m sure he’d be very excited to see that people are doing homage to their work :,)
  • The crew who run that place seem so nice and it's cool that it has family history.
  • Thane seems so sweet though! He didn’t mind to swim down and give them anything they needed. Not one complaint. He just did it. What a nice dude.
  • @inotanzen
The fact that Thane's dad was one of the original scientists to live in that was probably the coolest thing about this video. I can't imagine what it was like to watch his dad most likely be so passionate about something to then make him want to follow in his footsteps!! Seriously an amazing video as always, can't wait to see what we get next. :)
  • Wasn’t expecting ‘college dorm inside a nuclear bunker’ to be the underwater hotel aesthetic. Love it.
  • Thane going to be the only human to survive the zombie apocalypse in luxury 😂
  • The B story to this video is Saf and Tyler desperately trying to gain Thane's approval 😂
  • Gotta say, that this is likely the most secure hotel you could find. Like who's going to scuba just to rob a rather small non luxury hotel
  • I'd love to see this become a series-- it's less of a "look at where I went and what I can afford" and more "look at this place/opportunity and all the people who operate it" which is VERY rare from a travel series and exactly what I want to see!

Hi safiya I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the effort that you put into the captions for your videos, it really melts my heart to be able to watch your videos without having to wear my hearing aid.
  • As someone whose family visited Key Largo yearly growing up, this made my day! This vibe is really true for the whole island - nice people, good food and lots of weird fun places. I always wanted to go to the underwater hotel so I’m glad to see what it was actually like!
  • I really like that you guys picked this place over some luxury underwater hotel. This really felt like an adventure and an experience. I'd love to see more travel videos of you guys visiting unique hotels.
  • @myrosseee
Not only does this hotel look so fun and chill, but Thane himself seems like such a cool guy. Love how everytime he dropped by, he cheerfully called out "hey guys, room service! 😁"
  • @BagelChips
boy this got reccomended at the WRONG time lol
  • I'm very claustrophobic, so this kind of thing scares the heck out of me, but it also seems so fun. A lot of people here seem so chill, and the history is cool. I'm glad this place isn't just some giant resource eating place and seems to be just one room and it just, seems nice in that regard. I really love fish though and, although it's sad that you all didn't get to see many, its amazing just how close you get to be to them.
  • if i could pick ANY influencer to do a travel series like this, it would 10000000% be this channel. Safiya's reviews are SO thorough and useful and thoughtful, she's so good at articulating her experiences, this is PERFECT!!!!
  • This definitely wasn't what I imagined when I saw "underwater hotel" and probably not something for me. But I do love how homey and personal the experience seems to be. It's like you're sleeping over your grandparent's house vs staying at an actual hotel.

i like coming back to this video every now and then for the cozy and safe feeling i get from it. something about saf flipping through the little binder of DVDs, the plankton at the window at night, waking up to the yellow-green watery lighting, the room service delivered in a waterproof box. it's like a safe little bubble :)
