Before there was stylebender, before there was connor, Ronda, Anderson and gsp.. there was the iceman... the ufc's first ever full blown stud

Ah, the old UFC days: where wearing a Tapout shirt instantly gave you infinite lives.

Chucks KO against the fence of Ortiz is my all time favorite moment in the UFC. I was the only person in the bar that bet on Chuck, and the only person screaming like crazy when he knocked him out. What a moment!
  • Chuck will always be my favorite fighter. The excitement that Chuck brought to the octagon will forever surpass his losses. He was a warrior and he went out fighting.

Back then it was 25% skill, 25% guts and 50% crazy

The brawler era is what made ufc popular. The evolution has kept it popular and it's just as entertaining but those early years were magical.
  • Chuck was 37 when he went down hill. He was past his prime. He's a legend who couldn't stop competing like Anderson Silva. He is my favorite of all time.

The Iceman is the reason why many of us got into MMA. One of the fiercest fighters out there. Kill or be be killed mentality. Much respect

Chuck was my Hero for over a decade....his will to keep fighting even when he knew it would likely be a loss when his chin went away was inspiring....take the beating and earn even more respect. Still my hero all these years later!

When you can knock opponents out whilst going backwards, that was the Iceman. Great documentary as always.

This guy literally cleaned house in multiple organizations. Much respect. One of the greatest ever.
  • He relied on having a granite chin for a lot of his career, it all caught up in the end. Shots that would've tickled him early in his career, endee up putting him to sleep late in his career.

Tito really felt proud to beat a 48 year old man that hadn’t fought in years 😂 what a loser

I grew up with Chuck from elementary through high school.. We weren't that close but always got along. Seriously one of of the nicest guys around. When I heard he went to the UFC I just remember thinking it made total sense. Dude was not only nice butt was intense as hell.
