  • As a huge fan of The Last of Us, I can honestly say this has got to be one of the best video game adaptions. Really excited to see the rest of this show, let me know in the comments what you guys think!
  • Actually in game when they first find out Ellie was bit they don’t get time to talk about it because they are being chased by FEDRA, it’s only after they escape from them that they get to talk more about it in depth, so I’m sure that’ll come up in the next episode
  • "This is traumatic, I'm relieving it from 2013." Same. I started crying before she died 😭😂
  • Again, that's gotta be every parent's worst fear, watching their child die in their arms
  • I’m so glad this channel was made. I’m been a fan of you for a while, I love your input and comment. I love how you analyze things and understand like you were in their situation.
  • 7:43 Joel sold drugs in the games, too! He's a smuggler. He deals in all sorts of contraband and other stuff: guns, pills, alcohol, kevlar vest etc.
  • 10:18 yeah, Joel was openly more protective of Ellie down the line. But even in the game, when Ellie stabs the guy and the soldier aims a gun at her, Joel instinctively jumps at the guy, wrestles his gun out of his hand, and shoots the guy in the head. Also, re: the infection reveal, I'm certain that they'll have a proper conversation when they're in the clear. In the game, they have a conversation twice. The first time, they get interrupted by the military. Here, same thing happens, they just don't get to have too proper of a Convo.
  • Watched this with my dad; who hasn’t played the games or is a gamer at all, and by the time the episode ended - he says that he wished all of the episodes would come out in one day so he could binge it. This show is starting to become one of the very few best adaptations for a videogame, definitely up there with the likes of Arcane & Castlevania! Can’t wait to embark on this very special journey with y’all, this is gonna be a ride! ❤ p.s. I love that you give some information about what’s different in the show versus the game without giving too much away while expanding on lore tidbits so really liked that you did that!
  • @sneakieee
got my parents to watch this with me with no background on it and they liked it! all of us cried during sarah’s death, i honestly thought i wouldn’t cry again, but man i was in tears. i can imagine how later things will effect me😭 now i’m gonna go replay the game for the 100th time LOL
  • The people are aware. At least in the games. When the runners are after you, you can hear them say sorry and here them muttering to themselves if you sneak up on them.
  • Fun Fact: The shirt Ellie is wearing is the same one Nathan Drake wore as a kid in Uncharted 3's flashback.
  • @gleam6370
I was mentally prepared for that Sarah scene but it still absolutely wrecked me 😭
  • And as for the reaction of the bite they definitely still going to talk about her immunity there still 8 episodes left 🙂
  • @Dej0Le
When i played the game i was 16 years old and i cried a lot.now im 26 and watching sarah's death again nothing changed, still cried.Best game adaptation for me,HBO gonna give us a good season..
  • @elheber
I actually think the soldier did it because Joel mentioned Sarah's ankle. Which is all new sorts of messed up.
  • Loved the video!! And the episode too, it was so good!! And honestly, I would probably be one of the first to die. My sense of danger would be very heightened, but I would still stop and help others, so I'd probably stop for that family.
  • The episode is called "When You're Lost in Darkness." Reference to the Fireflies saying
  • I'm curious if you watched the little 5 minute Behind The Scene video at the very end of the episode! After the 2 minute trailer. I love that they added those and I love that the actors get to talk about their roles and of course their experience with it! Also curious if you're gonna watch the episode again but with the commentary podcast, I absolutely loved the directors commentary in the original game and I'm excited to watch this episode again with the podcast
  • Okay, so new sub, I've never played the game but I knew if HBO picked up a video game to make into a show it would be about the people, their thoughts, feelings, motivations, and actions. Love me a good HBO show because it's fundamentally about the emotions and motivations of the characters.
  • Bella's portrayal of Ellie is absolutely fantastic, the actresses of Tess and Sarah were amazing, but i can't help feel disappointed with Pedro Pascal's Joel, it felt off i don't know how to explain it.
