I get the feeling many of the people involved haven't actually tried to go outside on the 86th floor of a building in New York City in February...
  • @crbswiss
you should definitely make a follow-up video or 2 in a year and two years to see how the greenery really takes hold.
  • @cinilaknedalm
Open plan offices weren't loud enough, this building has a unique feature where you can hear the noise from above and below floors.

People forget how hard taking care of plants really is when they are not in actual ground. Drainage, watering, feeding, trimming, maintenance the list goes on
  • @townazier
I am not quite willing to pretend this is any different from regular glass tower. The natural spiral motivation is a hillarious claim on something cubical though xD
  • Cities keep expanding upwards but nobody thinks about improving the ground level (street transport, sidewalks, etc). So we end up with overcrowded streets and sidewalks and many frustrated drivers/pedestrians. In my view, upward expansion should come with a corresponding improvement on the ground level. Otherwise, the ground level is a huge, stressful bottleneck.
  • "You can't stay at home all day in your pajamas!" "Oh yeah? Watch me."

From the people who brought you 100% steel and concrete buildings: a 99% steel and concrete building!
  • @2nd3rd1st
Wow, balconies with potted plants! So innovative! So exciting! So environmental!
  • "Please return to offices, we can't pay unreasonably inflated bubble level high rent without you"
  • @lhop6235
How big are these trees supposed to get? A downed tree can be a big deal on the ground. I can't imagine how bad it would be if a big tree limb snaps and plummets 30 stories to the ground.

Honestly hate large open offices, so much interruption, and distractions when I'm trying to work. The office has become a meeting place and a training area more then anything now. It's hard to see a need for large offices like this when most seem to prefer working remotely.
  • I find it absolutely hillarious and embarassing how authorities try to convince people to return to these offices. After two years of "stay at home. Save lives", it's funny how now they say "you cannot stay in your pijamas all day". Well, just watch me 😅

Imagine if in a storm one of the big branches snaps off and hits you fifty stories below

Why is parking requirements still a thing in Manhattan?? I find it insane that anyone is allowed to drive in such a densely packed mini-island!
  • Why can't I stay home in my pajamas all day? I'm not in my PJ's but I'm getting work done. I was at the Edge this past Sunday and they had blossoming Japanese Cherry trees in an alcove at the observatory - there was a line of people wanting to take pictures. It does add to it.
  • It is nice to have more greenery incorporated into new sky scrapers, hopefully maintenance of these plants and trees are accounted for and will be looking nice for years to come

It’s going to make a great mark on the city skyline when one of those strong winds rips a tree out and drops it on the pavement.
