Over the course of 10 years, speedrunners have completely broke Luigi's Mansion, to the point where the game can be beaten in only 7 minutes. A milestone that just a year ago, seemed impossible...

This was supposed to be a Halloween special... oops. Either way, I hope you enjoyed this extensive history of Luigi's mansion any% (Out of Bounds)! If you want to learn more about Luigi's Mansion, I highly recommend watching GlitchDoctor's video (he helped with research on my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-arUDijsEI&t=20s [EDIT: 1/10/2023] GLITCHDOCTOR / GLITCHPHD HAS BROKEN THE ANY% WR WITH A 7:36!!!!
  • Imagine haunting this mansion all these years, just for some Italian guy to come clean up in under 8 minutes
  • The fact that, THAT strat was discovered by someone fucking around playing the game with their feet is insane. That's some "how many timelines did we sub 8 in?" shit.
  • I still can't beleive I found a basically frame perfect strat just from playing casually with a friend. It was mildly frustrating not having it recording (especially since I had my recording equipment set up to record the area totals to compete with them), but I am happy to be a part of it! Here's to sub seven minutes in the future. Also, sorry for delaying the Halloween special :p
  • Red's mic being broken like that during such an insane discovery while playing with his feet is so funny
  • For those watching this vid, make sure to keep watching till the end. Things get insane. Thank you again for shouting out my video as well as letting me be a part of this! I can't wait to see how the record gets lowered. All it takes is that one run where everything falls into place.
  • I love these types of videos, half because they’re interesting and half because instead of actual people names we get “fire crotch 219” 🤣.
  • That boss music playing for the last 5 minutes made me realize just how hype these videos could be if most Speedrun docs stopped following the SummoningSalt formula. Chill vibes are great but the manic vibes in this video were an awesome change of pace
  • I think it’s funny how sock folder’s splits were: “kill dead baby” and “Hit last split” 😂
  • @btarg1
This deserves much more attention. Your speedrunning documentary style is on par with the very best, can't wait to see more!
  • @PabloRuns
Even though I knew what was gonna be in de video, all the plot twists are great. Nice vid man :)
  • Luigi’s mansion is one of the speedgames that I’ve always heard about but never looked into. Amazing vid Lunatic, the quality gets better and better with every upload
  • The glitch in the Japanese version of Luigi's Mansion where you can instantly end the King Boo boss fight just by touching his crown is freaking amazing! Too bad is banned on speedruns.
  • Amazing video. Really glad to see this speed game getting the love and recognition it deserves. Well done!
  • Amazing video! I'm glad that my never-ending ramblings about cool out of bounds route ideas ended up actually snowballing into the madness that is the new PAL route. Can't wait for the day people start actually going for that route, or until we find a way to make it NTSC-viable. Really happy that you showed it off to all these new people because it definitely deserves the recognition, as does everything else in the video! 😄
  • I am always fascinated by how much you are able to break games without them just crashing or something
  • @yosher
Great to see LM speedrunning getting the attention it deserves! Glad to say a was/am a part of the community and have seen the progress of this speedrun
  • I somehow figured out the finger vibration by tensing arm muscles mashing method when I was young. It's faster than the double thumb (at least for me) but can only do it for a short time before my arm muscles just stop working right. It's a very niche ability but I've never lost a button mashing minigame.

These kind of videos make me want to get into speedrunning, but at the same time, I know I would not be able to handle the frustration and amount of practice it involves. Absolute insanity!
  • I want to say thank you to everyone watching this. You're all doing your part to keep this game alive. I constantly tell people this is my favorite game, the core memories I have with the game are crucial. Thank all of you again for keeping interest in this gem. Hope life treats yall well!
