It’s interesting how every level of the game ties into Doug’s backstory/personality flaws: The monkey hotel is a reference to how his secretary told him “no monkey business”, and the reason it’s a hotel is because that’s where a lot of affairs tend to happen. The school and Agatha are directly a reference to how Tammy (Doug’s daughter) died young. The golden statue guys are a reference to Doug’s shallowness and greed (his wife mentions that he only cares about work, and he buys his secretary a bunch of stuff). The circus might be a stretch, but I think it depicts how Doug sees himself as a “fool” for how he treated his family. The ducks are about deception and pretending to be innocent even when they aren’t; Doug lies to his wife about the cheating and tries to act as if he has no fault in any of his problems. The ducks are also all broken toys, so it may represent how Doug called his wife and daughter “defective”. The nurses are all likely a reference to Doug’s infidelity, but they are also hospital themed; Doug is currently stuck in a hospital bed. Joy Joy land is obvious; Doug told his family that they were “sucking the joy” out of his life. The mama bear may be a stretch, but I think it hints that Doug had an abusive mother, which would explain why he treats his own family so horribly.

So here’s the story for you Cor: Doug was introduced to the dark arts and Malek knows Bierce and her husband; by making a deal with him to be a famous actress since she wasn’t getting anywhere. Anywho, Doug was going to make a deal with Malek for success and stuff, but he needed a sacrifice (as did Bierce and her husband) and chose to kill his wife and child by messing with the brakes. This is all shown when you see a secret place in the hospital with that one scary kid with the claws. They drove over the bridge and lost control of the car, falling into the water. So now that Doug had success after the murders, he lived his life but then got sick with cancer and passed on. And now here we are. Please like this so Cory can see it 😊 Poor little girl and wife didn’t have the life they deserved 😣 Edit: Holy crap y’all are awesome

Spoilers : Like they had SUCH a plot twist when you thought you were just going to go back to the portal normally. But then they stop you and Malak catches you. And they added so much things, animations etc. It really blew me away. They really popped off and improved so much over the few months. It makes me excited for the things to come.

This game really is out of this world good. Voice acting, story, characters, game mechanics etc. It's so unique and so well made. Props to everyone involved!

as someone with high functioning autism and other disabilities, that scene with the parents fighting over the daughter really got to me. I was not diagnosed with autism until i was 26 about 4 years ago. but my father was in complete denial for the longest time and when he finally accepted it he kept blaming himself for it. but hes been a wonderful father and accepting of me no matter what. always makes time for me, my mom and my sister and helps support me. i love my family. also my dad would NEVER do something as sick and twisted as that s.o.b. in the game. hes been with my mom for 43 years, i was born 13 years later and he still loves my mom after all these years.

I don’t mean to be late, but I think that bunny was a professional boxer hitting Cory with the 12-piece combo.
