Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

As a physician I'm sorry to see your trouble with your back. Lumbar spasm can be several things but often it's a matter of treating the spasm with time. PT might help. By the way, Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory so it's OK to mix with NSAIDs. Regardless, work with your PCP and take it easy out there.

Zach, I'm over 50 and I'll tell you what helped me a lot. Standing desk, inversion table to stretch the back, and walking as much as I can every day. Don't do surgery.
  • Anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers and two beers trust me, I stayed at a holiday in express😂

I hurt my back 8 years ago, crippled me for days and days. I've never wished that on anyone after I experienced it for myself. Here's hoping for a quick recovery!

I tweaked a nerve in my back on the throne this morning. I'm only in my mid-40's and my body is telling me I'm no longer 20... I'm in the office and have my younger help doing the heavy lifting. Getting old, is getting old.

I swear, back muscles... "Alright! Things are looking great, but today we're clenching - full power - in one particular way! No moving any other way either! It's full clench, or nothing!"

Prayers for you and the back issue! Your dad and you interact so kindly! Good deal!
  • @carlfry873
Good luck Zach....I really do feel your pain! Fell 25 ft through a ceiling in '08. 2 rods, 9 screws, a plate and 2 bolts in my lumbar and I'm "good to go"! I thank God every day I can still walk....sorta! PT would help as well as some rest. Keep up the great videos and good luck with back.

Advise you get a Reach Right shovel assist handle, easier on the back. I have an occasionally protruding disc from lifting heavy object. I do a back arching excersise everyday to keep it squeezed back in place. It works, but I also have to be careful what I lift.

I feel your pain. Happens to me 3-4 times a year. speedy recovery

Zach… I’m 43, I’ve had 3 back operations… I’ve had back problems since I was 17. I have degenerative disk disease.. the orthopedic surgeon says my back looks like a jigsaw puzzle, and I’m not out of the woods with more surgeries.. I drive truck. I’m not supposed to but I gotta do something. I’m sorry you’re having back issues.. I know your pain you’re going through..

Sciatic nerve? Happens to me and its the worst thing EVER. I can't stand at all for at least a day. It shoots right down into my legs and I can't put any weight on them. But what has helped me with sciatic is an inversion table. That has been helping tremendously for me when my sciatic goes into spasms.
  • @stevenslater2669
I’ve had my back go out like that a couple of times. That camera sitting in the floor may as well been on the moon! I found a good chiropractor. He fixed me up to where I’m functional again, but most of my disc spaces are closed up (lots of x-rays at the orthopedic surgeon). Like Clint Eastwood said, “A man’s gotta know his limitations.”
  • @hossreborn4739
Wish the best healing for you Zach and hope to see you back and active as the great Millennial farmer again!!!
  • @calcobb442
Thank God for your dad. Hope you recover quickly, Zach.
  • @andrewward4253
I 100% recommend a good chiropractor if you’ve never been to one before. Had lower back pain from skiing and after about 6 visits they were able to align my spine back into equilibrium and have a bi-monthly check to just keep everything aligned and moving smoothly. Highly recommend!
  • @egonkruger1543
I know what that is, I'm a dairy farmer, the love what you have for tractors, I have for cows, first they, then me, wish you a full recovery 🙏🙏
  • @athalyerajan2823
Hope u feel better n heal quickly. I get these spasms also about once every 2 yrs. Tc
  • @Duh6666666
I feel for you Zach, I'm 57 and my back does this once or twice a year and the only thing is Rest and relaxation. Take care and don't try to over do it.
  • @jamesyak52
Happens to me every other month it seems. Same physical labor type job. Feel your pain.
