Digging for Canyon Rim Thundereggs in Central Oregon

2022-08-17に共有
What a good afternoon this was at the Polka Dot Agate Mine digging thundereggs. I would highly recommend this location for those who want an easy access fee dig.

Also, if you want to see some photos of the Polka Dot Agate, which is for sale, but you can no longer dig for at the time of posting, you can go to the listing on my website and see some photos of it.

The Polka Dot Agate Miners Facebook Group is the best place to stay up to date with what they have going on at the mine.

  • We visited them two years ago and had a great time! Dug some eggs and purchased some nice polka dot agate from one of the piles! He generously gave me a very nice half egg on the house for my birthday! Yep, everything fluoresced under U.V. light.
  • I love this mine! You can learn a lot about thundereggs just by digging here a few times. There is a green pocket in the middle of the dig area that has some great material!
  • Wow! Eggs for daaaaayyyyyyyyyyys! $2 per pound seems pretty fair! That tube agate is CRAZY! Sucks about the dud
  • That green Kamraba Jasper look's like it would be beautiful, slabbed & polished!
  • I love that place. You forgot to mention the beautiful drive through the Canyon heading east from 97. Brian and Matt are good guys. The blue mountain orbicular jasper is my fav. Looks like their stock of that has dwindled considerably.
  • Very awesome site! Thanks for sharing so I can update my dream trip! 👊👍
  • I admire your will power. My bag would've been full of all your rejects 😂
  • Thanks for taking us to Oregon with you. Some amazing stuff on display, and the piles. I could spend a few dubloons there. America seems packed with the wonders of the ntural world. Someday, maybe I'll see it with my own eyes.
  • Great place to dig at. Enjoyed the video trip👍👍
  • Gotta love those eggs! And jasper too. I must get down there one of these days
  • Interesting place. I’m gonna check that maybe we are going to there. Thanks.
  • Amazing mine! I would love to go there. On the bucket list now. Thanks for sharing!

That place is really awesome! Just eggs after eggs after eggs! I think its just as easy to check through the discard piles on top of the dig layer, and choose the egg you want! There were some just fabulous half eggs, that you could just pick the size and look you wanted out of the pile! And $2 pr/lbs is a reasonable price for the incredible eggs you can get there. That looks like my next vacation spot! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing your two eggs cut on the website in the future! exciting times!
