Should you buy a USED Onewheel? 13 Reasons for & against

I bought a used XR this month with 6 miles on it. Came with an orange fender, an orange plug cover, a helmet, triple 8 wristguards, knee pads, and elbow pads as well.... Only $1250 and was the first person I contacted about buying one. Super simple transaction. Paid cash in a sheriff parking lot.

Reasons For 1. Save money by saving on the depreciation hit 2. No sales tax 3. Support the community 4. Warranties are transferrable 5. Accessories may be included (and sometimes a lot of them) 6. Less stress Reasons Against 7. Time consuming 8. Depending on location - market may be very, very small (or none) 9. Missing out on new smell / look 10. Don't have the full warranty 11. More stress 12. Harder to finance 13. It may not be that much cheaper

Hey Jimmy , just to say that I recently purchased a secondhand OW+ and so far have been loving it. A large part of that decision and was due to your very down to earth videos so thank you for making them. BTW, the OW+ came with a new carbon mag fender, so are bumpers and a handle so all in all a good deal. Considering a CnR setup in the future!

I bit the bullet during quarantine researching my butt off on these and just said what the hell, I'll just buy one new. That unboxing and clean smell is an experience. I was one of those new one wheelers buying accessories to protect my board and make it mine, I dont regret it. I love my onewheel. Me and a group did a ride yesterday on the Las Vegas strip and it was heaven. You can't beat that feeling where so many people are watching and " oohing"and "aweing" wondering what in the world we are riding as we zip right by them. Since the strip is somewhat empty, there are a lot of people riding bikes through it. Well this is the best 1800 Ive spent ever. I could of bought used if I tried but I didn't want to risk having someone elses problem. Theres no way for me to know how a used onewheel was treated and that alone is a dealbreaker for me. If I was going to drop that much coin, that peace of mind is worth the extra money. anyways, great video jimmy. Cheers.

I just bought a Pint because I wanted something to do with my kids during a summer of quarantine. We love it! And I was wondering if anybody else was thinking the same thing. I wonder if there has been a surge in sales... We also watched a ton of your videos before taking the leap, so thank you for all the content!

I was considering buying used, but there was zero used ones near me. The used one wheel Facebook page turned out to be a page of nothing but people begging to buy one. Even the local shops were out of stock. Luckily my friend and I found a local dealer who had a few in stock so we helped out a local business.

In Sweden there is a used onewheel market. Its small but not really a problem to buy a used one. I live out on the countryside but a couple of hours by train or car and I can go on grouprides in the bigger citys. Keep up the good work with the videos with the onewheel👍

If you’re coming to South Dakota, definitely consider stopping thru Yankton, SD (my hometown) - we have our incredible Meridian pedestrian bridge that crosses the Missouri into Nebraska and a couple dozen miles of trails along the river and around Lewis & Clark Lake. I’m a full-time filmmaker, as well - this could be a fun opportunity to document your experience, if you wouldn’t mind me tagging along 😉

I been wanting the xr . But i been thinking of buying used instead of NEW... thanks for the video alot Jimmy Chang!👍🏼 ..my real reason for used is because it doesn't have the bells an whistles the pint has to me, (simple stop) i just want one for the range since there not gonna make another pint with same range..

Thanks for the video Jimmy! I probably should have bought used since I was one of those that went all crazy with accessories on day 1. I bought a lot of protective side plates and bottom plates to protect the rails and bottom. I also added a fender and a kush foot pad along with a great handle. I enjoy the Onewheel XR+ and glad I bought it. However, now that I have had time to ride it for quite some time I realize I just like PEVs that go faster with even greater range than the XR+. I may actually sell my Onewheel XR+ so I can make room for a Kingsong S18 EUC but still on the fence. I have been riding the Onewheel more during this pandemic and it has been great cruising around San Francisco. I may still just keep it and get an EUC :)
