Myself and a mate climbed over the high corrugated tin fence into the guest enclosure at Queen's last gig at Knebworth (9th Aug '86). Lemmy was stood at a trestle table of drinks watching, he simply smiled at us, beckoned us over & passed us both a drink. Watched the remainder of the show with him! Life long happy memory :) Had a few 'meetings' with him in the 80's. Pure class dude!

"mtv became the thing it set out to fight." couldn't have said it better

"Heavy Metal is Rock and Roll. It's just a different name." Thank you posting this. R.I.P. Lemmy and Phil.
  • Lemmy, as usual, used logic and reason and a sharp wit to show everything that is wrong with the music scene today. His line about MTV is gold.

"Rock'n'Roll is supposed to be crazed joy and rebellion for no apparent reason" - Lemmy, best quote about rock i've ever heard.

No human being has ever been more true to themselves than Lemmy Kilmister. No bullshit, no fake shit, no pandering, no selling himself out. Always put it on the line and never deviated from his core principles. Lemmy was the personification of rock-n-roll, respect by fellow musicians and loved by his fans. Motörhead is responsible for some of my hearing loss and I would not have it any other way. War Lemmy and Motörhead!!

I feel he was a gent. very old school English. Fight our way out of a pub. He was old school. A time forgotten.

Lermmy is a rock legend. He has so much charisma and wisdom. I met him in Atlanta in 1999. He was sitting at the bar of the Tabernacle, (where Motorhead played that night), talking to some girl with orange hair...lol. I didn't want to invade his space, but I really did want to say "hello", to my favorite Rock and Roller while I had the chance. So I did; "Hey Lemmy!"   And he responded in kind, "Hey man!" And that was cool with me! lol! I spoke to Phil Campbell too. Long live Motorhead!

The BS detector was stuck at a reading of 0 in this interview, nothing but the truth from LEMMY, as always.

These 16 minutes are pure rock n roll... You can't fake this... What a legend.

Lemmy, What a Guy.... Constantly praising others!! He REALLY led the way. Gone but not forgotten.

No bullshit with him. He's the real deal
  • I met Lemmy by mistake lol I went to see W.A.S.P. in Memphis, TN and MOTORHEAD was the opening act. Lemmy spent too much time at the bar after the concert was over and ran right smack into me running for the bus before they left him lol He was sooo nice and apologized greatly for almost knocking me down outside the venue. I loved him before, but so loved him more after that! He was so nice and apologetic! lol I just wish that he wasn't running for the bus to leave and had NO TIME for me to ask for a picture, or anything! ... but HEY... I have a GREAT memory from an awesome man!

Lemmy. The only person who gets away with calling Hetfield "Jimmy".

Lemmy was always a polite interviewee. Al ways nice to the interviewer. RIP mate.

Lemmy doesn't know he has charisma. That's why he has charisma. That was fascinating stuff, seriously. Lemmy was once quoted as saying, about Motorhead's musicianship, "We only know three chords, but we arrange 'em pretty well"

Read his biography a few months ago, true badass outlaw, but humble and human at the same time. RIP.
