Y'all stop saying cultural appropriation and start saying cultural appreciation. And the point of this video is how to get curls without getting heat damage.

At least she actually called them what they are and not " little buns " or some thing.
  • @amari8971
I could understand if she didn't call it by name (Bantu knots), but that's not the case so don't be upset. Girl is just trying a hairstyle to make her hair curly. My hair is not naturally straight but I've gotten it relaxed and straightened in the past so why trip? Hop off lmao, let her do her.
  • Who else came here to see all the triggered people in the comment section?

all these black girls complaining better not be wearing no weaves or extensions smh. and yes, I am black 🙄

I am so thankful African American hairstyles is reaching different cultures. is time to break out the ignorance that a hairstyle belong to any one culture or a person and getting a sophisticated level of thinking and acceptance. if we really want people to accept us and to treat us with respect we must first present ourselves with with respect and be able to communicate our heritage and allow people to respectfully explore and use our heritage. at the end of the day all of this ignorant hype about it's a black hairstyles or keeping any one individual, place, tradition, form of style to out self or looking down upon other people and cultural who try repeat what we do or say is only going to make our people and cultural look more ignorant

Y'all should calm the fuck down. She didn't walk down the street with the Bantu knot. It is a protective hairstyle and she only used it to curl her hair naturally without heat. Calm the fuck down tbh coz we all gonna do anything to make things easier and faster and bantu knot is more healthier and safer than using heat. We all gonna do anything to make our hair survive so whether u are white, black, Asian, Latino, Hispanic , green, orange, indigo, blue, pink, or turquoise we females need to accept ourself and see ourself as one like we girls have problem. U don't see black boys, white boys, Latino boys, Asian boys etc fighting about things. We need to get our shit together and realize that we are girls and we should come together to do something that will make our life easier as a female. And also what is the ranting about. She called it Bantu knot and she didn't walk down the street with it. Pls don't let the media tear us apart we should be strong
  • Lol. I just read a comment that said: "your ancestors oppressed people of color so you have no right to tell me how to feel" COME ON PEOPLE! Are we really going to punish people over stuff they had no control over? You can't control being born black or white, you can't control who your ancestors were! Shall I build a time machine and prevent slavery? Like what the fuck do you want? When it comes down to it, it's just hair. Let it be. I have naturally curly hair, I don't get offended when people use curling irons. And as far as culture goes, culture changes and borrows from other cultures all the time. I'm Puerto Rican, that's a hell of a mix of cultures, I don't go around and crucify people for salsa dancing, or listening to reggeton or wanting to speak Spanish. Give this petty first world excuse a break. Wanna do something to help people? Go to the places where your culture originates and help them out, donate money, help stop the wars and poverty going on there, make a real difference for someone who doesn't have the luxury of worrying about something trivial like hair.

If I was claiming to have created this style myself, or named it anything other than what it's normally called then you could be offended. This a way to get heartless curls which is what happened. I gave props by making sure I got the name right. Stop trying to find things to be offended by.

These comments are disgusting, like why are you guys so butt hurt over some bantu knots? It's like saying white people don't have the privilege to wear these? That is racism right there. What do we differ? On the color of our skin, hair, features? We are all humans we die and we look same. I can't believe people are clicking on this video to talk filth. She just wanted to see how she would look with curly hair and used this method which is pretty simple. Don't get why people make a huge deal about it.
  • @ginam2752
Ugh I'm black and these comments are disgusting. There is absolutely no problem with any race doing Bantu knots unless it's CREDITED, meaning she didn't name it "small buns" or anything other than its proper name, which she clearly didn't. I understand why some people WOULD be upset but there's no need to be upset since this is clearly NOT cultural appropriation. This is just hair. Don't we straighten our hair which is more typical to "caucasians"? Yes some black people have silkier hair but some white people also have curly hair just as black people. So please stop with the negativity and blaming the poor girl for something she didn't do!
  • @kennedyb.1683
the second I saw the title I knew there were gonna be a bunch of overly sensitive ppl trying to act like they owned this hairstyle lmao
  • @swaqqygirl
My hair comes out extremely curly using this method . The shrinkage is real when I use this
  • @sarahm3763
The hate and negativity in the comments section makes me very sad, personally I think it looks really cute on the young lady. She's beautiful.
  • @xNaeja
Probably should've used mousse so that the hair could've held the curl a lot better. That way it wouldn't look wonky in some places, like the straight pieces. Other than that it came out really good.
  • @sephoniaonis
I'm just happy she called it what it is which gives props to the culture that this hairstyle stems from. I'm all up for different cultures learning and inspiring from others, it's how we'll grow. She did a good job 👏🏿.
