I’ve met Steve several times playing golf out at Mammoth when he’s chasing a bear here or there around the course and he is insanely knowledgeable at his job. His approach keeps a lot of bears roaming the wild that would otherwise be euthanized.

What a good guy. He genuinely felt so much for these animals, and got so emotional when he had to put that bear down but he was so respectful after it died. Kudos to this man.

I feel bad for the bears. They just want peace in their lives. I appreciate this man taking the time with them and protecting them. Half-Nose broke my heart.

I started to cry when I saw the old bear with no teeth. Hard to see such a formidable creature so vulnerable. 💔🐻😔 This man deserves respect for how he works with the bears. He's very respectful of the bears. I liked how he smudged and prayed over the bear he had to put down.

When Steve had to shoot the Bear... I felt the loss. Much respect for this guy and all that dedicate their lives to protection of wildlife. These are the best kind of humans you could ever hope to meet. Best wishes from UK.
