So glad I found this documentary on good ol' Satchmo!!! 🎺🥁I wish the filmed discussed his partnership with Ella Fitzgerald and/or how they dealt with racism during their careers. Bless Loius Armstrong and all of the musicians that paved the way!! 🎺🎼

His beautiful soul truly shined through his music, and that contagious smile was amazing. His voice was one of a kind, and that energy he presented could be felt and seen through the screen.
  • Always a happy man. Transcends all music genre. Very much loved by whoever came in contact with him. We will always miss him.
  • Louis Armstrong - people've also known him for his kindness & his artistry. His music is pure. Ones, who's music in theirs hearts as he's, must have a beautiful soul. Thank you for uploading. .

What a wonderful world became my fathers song after his brother who played the trumpet was asked to f ill in as one of his band members was sick. He filled till the regular was able to come back. My fathers brother died from a heart attack. Louis called the widow to give his condolences. I did not know this story till I was outside the funeral doors at my own fathers funeral. I heard the song playing from the computer. I was stunned. I didn’t know this was my father song till then. You see, It was my favorite song too. First time I heard it I thought how pretty & you want to believe it is a wonderful world. I also found it relaxed me.

At 41 minutes, Louis' trumpet on his grave wasn't stolen. It's at the Armstrong archives at Queens College. I saw it a week ago.

I have this documentary on one of my VHS tapes. It's called "Laughin' Louie" and it aired on A&E many years ago.
  • I remember when this was first shown back in the eighties .Pops melted my heart and was the reason I became a musician.
  • SATCH will always remain one of THE greatest of all, as for me, he is in the MOZART-heavyweight-league with only very few others! LOUIS FOREVER!
  • Great history of an amazing man! So awesome to hear from those who loved, respected, and knew him well.
