i wrote this song a long time ago, and originally recorded it at a recording studio in Edinburgh that was run by a guy called Steve who was one of the original line-up of The Waterboys, he produced the original version i recorded, with more of a full band sound, where i recorded all the guitar parts and he programmed some drum parts on an Alesis HR16 i think it was..but I'm not sure if any copies of that version exist anymore after lifes ups and downs

i remember he had a huge dog and he was very nice to work with.. Steve.. i never worked with the dog i just petted it when i came up the stairs every time i went in the studio.. it was huge but very friendly, the dog :)

i have a version of this song with a full band sound and electric guitar and synth and piano and orchestral parts on it that i recorded back in Manchester, UK, back in about 2010, that i played from the CD of it when i was interviewed in a special feature on me and my music, (and got asked about the time where i worked with one of Boards of Canada (Michael Sanderson), and talked him into trying to use synthesisers (a Roland SH101..as my band needed a keyboard player at the time!) before he formed that band, so they may not have existed if I'd not used a LOT of persuasion to try to get him to try playing the synth for my band for me and my friends, which actually took a lot of persuasion, as he was not keen at all on being in a band at first!, which is not at all clear on their Wikipedia page which mistakenly says they played in lots of bands before forming Boards of Canada, which is not true at all, he was in ONE band before Boards of Canada, our awesome band "Terminus Est"!: ) one big regret is that when they asked me for any music i had recorded, so they could mix it into new musical creations, i never gave them any of my recordings, Doh! but I'd still love to hear what they would do with my songs now but lost touch after i got a phone call off them after years not seeing them but they needed a particular Roland keyboard for a gig at a Stadium that they were involved in that I'm not sure if got widely reported),

but the original recording of what i feel is the best version of my Song in this video this comment is about,(my song "For You") was debut during the feature on my early music recordings and my life, on "All FM" radio station in the interview of me done by Ursula Pabisch, who is a great music journalist and interviewer and supporter of independent musicians, and there was a copy of that interview online years ago but the site does not exist anymore

I'll try to find a way to put the original recordings of this song, and that "All FM" radio interview onto YouTube in future but i can't get the files off my old Mac onto online as it is so old that it is not compatible with current internet! Argh!:) so if anyone has any ideas of how to transfer the files from there to YouTube i would be hugely grateful

i know i am FAR from perfect, I'm wonky in so many ways, my voice, my looks etc etc etc..

and i know that millions of people have had far harder lifes than me

but i nearly got beaten by life after too many tough times one after another before i could recover from the previous bad stuff that happened, again and again, it's still too tuf some days.. so it means so much to me that you listen and if you like what i am trying to do that means so much to me too it really does
