Saanen 1980 - Question #3 from Question & Answer Meeting #4

'What is enlightenment?'

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.

The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'

We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.

Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at [email protected]

You’re listening to someone who cracked the code of thinking. Keep listening. No one is more true than this man. You might go around listening to others but you will end up with him. The reason is simple: he knows what he is talking about. In time you might get bored of him because he speaks in the same way and people run away and think he doesn’t touch the heart of people. But this is a huge misunderstanding, because he shows you the way intellectually and the opening of the heart will be your sweetest surprise. He doesn’t want his experience to be yours; he simply wants you to have your own. He throws you into the ocean of your deepest fears and lets you swim alone. Nobody can swim for you. And there is the success of a true master.

"Enlightenment is the realization that there is no self to be Enlightened"

The moment child says Iam innocent ...... it is no more innocent..... If a child doesn't say anything about innocent is certainly innocent....
  • @Pin-Neo
There is no "enlightenment" to be achieved. You are always here.

Seems like JK is from a different planet. So much insight,,
  • Wow, what he's saying is soo simple i almost didn't notice it even though he was describing it clearly. Now that ive noticed it i can't unnotice it. He's speaking clearly and logically, with no metaphor except for the fact that human language is imperfect. What he says in this speech is a single idea over and over again. And I've just watched some of his other speeches and they are all saying the exact same thing. What he's saying is that your capacity to reason is within yourself, not outside yourself, stop referring to gurus like him, simply observe the truth within yourself, don't refer to wrong ideas from society or wrong ideas that you created from your own past, all these extra filters(wrong ideas from society and past you) are stopping you from simply observing truth... That's what i got from it anyway

Last couple lines were the best - "it cannot be achieved. It is there, or it is not there."

This man was the best Master to ever live. The Perfect Master greater than anybody. I dont know how he did not at least finally become the Worldwide Teacher that all waited for , he was perfect.

Yes...I can say surely that many Indian so called gurus, speakers, ...Now a days use his talks to learn and become popular....donot know why less people view this great talk....But bitter truth is that very less people know him and miss the genuine info....

It is agreed that we are not the body, the mind or the intellect ; we are that supreme consciousness, a state of being one without a second, if that is so, to whom is the enlightenment ! The realisation that we are not this body, mind and intellect and bringing it into awareness at every moment of our life, itself is enlightenment !!
  • @virtualetude
@12:49 “In that interval you create the idea” He is really saying time is always now and our ideas and concepts obscures the fact.
  • @Mane_sir
Enlightenment is realization of we are nothing... Experience of no mind
  • @dntdnt25
Krishnamurti was so compassionate to us, he explained it in a very patience, clear way .
