Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment police found 17-year-old Jordan Turpin, who escaped from her California home to call 911 and tell the responding sheriff’s deputy a horrifying story. Jordan said that she and her 12 siblings were being tortured, chained up and starved by their parents in their home, which later became known as the “house of horrors” as more harrowing details were revealed. “This is one of the most scariest things I’ve ever done,” Jordan told the deputy.

The fact she didn't know what medication breaks me. She was so brave and I'm proud she haves her siblings

This young lady saved her siblings and deserves great honor. That took guts.

It kills me that she was 17 and didn’t know medication even existed. She seems so pure, gentle and loving and she deserves a bright future.

Jordan is a hero to her siblings. If she didn't do this, who knows how much worse it could be today.

When she said “Medication?” my mouth just dropped.

Imagine being a cop in that situation. They must've been absolutely dumbfounded. I don't blame them for being skeptical because she understandably had a really hard time articulating the situation. Asking what medication is was probably the biggest red flag

When she said “what’s medication” after establishing that she’s 17, that broke me

I felt like crying when she asked what medication is. Her vocabulary was so limited at that time. Being forcefully isolated all their life, they were deprived of so many things.

They only got 25 years? Really? This crime is arguably worse than murder. These kids were tortured their whole lives and missed years of education. What chance do they really have in life now? Its going to take many years to catch up and to recover from the trauma. These criminals deserve more than 25 years.

So if she didn't have this photo proof, the officer would've thought she was lying? that's a joke right..
  • Damn, the fact that she even thought she had to clarify why they "stole" food is pretty sad and gives you some insight on how the conditions were inside that home.

It breaks my heart how quick she defended her sisters after explaining they were chained up for stealing food. She was so scared of them being in trouble

"How can Heaven be better than this?" Because what her and her siblings were going through was HELL ON EARTH!

She is amazingly courageous, a true role model. Also glad the officer trusted his gut and did not ignore her. Yes he was sceptical but he still took the time to help her.

All the way up to 29 years old, so obviously they would never let them leave to keep the secret. How SICK!

Jordan is a hero she saved her siblings for her terrible abusive parents!

“Medication? What’s medication?” That’s how yk that girl hasn’t ever left her home.

When she said "how could heaven be better than this?" That just hit me hard. Something many of us take for granted and has been to and seen for years is what she considers heaven. That's just... Wow...
  • “How could heaven be better than this?!” Humanity has no idea the sheer gift this fallen world really was!
