    Just got my pro in auction for $20 and have no idea how to use it. Great video it will help me out a lot.

    I've been so frustrated with the saute function being too high. Thank you for sharing that you can customize it! That will help a lot. Question, do you find that you get more BURN messages with this pot? A lot of the recipes I like using start by sauteing something, so this could be related to that setting being too high and not fully de-glazing after. Side note, I found with the old IP I have, the inner pot being able to freely spin helped reduce hot spots of the heating element

    I have this model. Iā€™m new to instant pot but have used stovetop pressure cookers. I agree about the absence of zero minutes as thereā€™s a great deal of recipes that use zero min, seems silly to remove it. My main gripe soo far is with the dry bake function. It took me 2.5 hrs to cook a banana cake in a sixā€ round cake pan. It would have been done in an HR in the oven. Iā€™m going to try another with a little Bundt tin I have and see how that goes, not holding my breath tho. Thereā€™s also an absence any recipes or guidance from the manufacturer on what to expect with that fry bake function. Apart from that Iā€™m enjoying using it and have made some yummy meals.

    I just started my adventure with pressure cooker (I have this exact model) but I am a bit disappointed. Most quick recipes has this 0 minute PC, slow-cooker function is an abomination and sous vide is unreliable. But 1,5 h version of PC was still not nearly as good as 5 hours stove top. I am trying not to get discouraged, and keep testing! O! And I muted diabolical sound right away! Thank you for the great video!

    Thank you. This was super helpful

    Your videos are not only on. They are the most helpful!!! I lost your channel for awhile when you changed your channels name. Glad I found you again ā¤ļø
  • I have this same IP Pro and I have to say, Iā€™ve made bread and cakes in it which were great! Also, it makes the creamiest cheese cake ever and is much easier than in a pan of water in the oven. They are all considerably smaller though. And you need special sized pans. Thanks for your tips, especially how to turn off the annoying sounds! I just found your channel and subscribedšŸ˜Š

    Susan, this was really interesting! I love the handles on the inner pot, and the way it sets itself to cook when you seal the lid. (Such an easy detail to overlook!) Sadly, I don't think I can justify buying a newer model when my old one is working fine. But it's quite tempting. . .
  • @Cachapeluo
    Great video. I would like to add that the Pro model comes with a non removable electric cord. The last model that I had, I think it was a Duo, came with a removable cord.

    Thank you for your very thorough reviews! You hinted in another video at the differences between this model and the the Pro Crisp one with the air fryer lid, that go beyond the lid itself, but as someone who doesn't own an Instant Pot yet, those different aren't clear to me. Would you mind making a video comparing the two models (or just explaining in a comment if there aren't may)? Thank you!

    Thank you Susan, so enjoy watching your videos, always helpful šŸ˜Š

    I just bought an instant pot duo plus 9/1 unit. Obviously new old stock. No big deal about that for me. Made sous vide ( temperature control is not great ) and yoghurt ( absolutely fantastic result) But Iā€™m now wishing I had bought the pro if only for the handles on the inner pot. Come on Instant Pot .. make those handles a basic standard feature at the least. Nice clear and concise review too! Cheers !
  • @avaDesdemona
    Love your videos, they've helped me a lot! Now, I'd like to give back: remembering which is convex and which is concave? Caves go in, so concave is the one with the dip, or bowl shape. Hope that helps!

    I hadn't owned an IP before my Pro.. I watched your vids to learn more about cooking methods ... you were so enlightening/easy to follow ... :).. but I'm still slow to convert recipes... so... I do slow cook in my IP(as one son likes shop bought sauces(he used them when at uni) ...n I find I just throw them in2 IP after browning meats add fresh veg(chunky broccoli included), make sure saute heats everything up... n don't worry myself about 'burn' notices -(I'm new to IP recipe converting n this seemed easier than me trying to make sure IP liquid was thin enough not to burn... ). On slow cook-Hot my pot sits happily from mid mornin until 'anytime' teatime so son can eat when he's ready. ....so glad I'm watching you ... I forget I can use just 'steam' no pressure ... :)) thx nb ... whilst Pro is on slo cook... :)) I have the use of a new IP Duo mini Plus ... so like the 'spinning pot as I can turn the pot whilst de-glazing ... it saves burning it when on 'saute'... but, on the Pro ... I find if Saute cookin becomes too hot one just has to pick up inner pot turn 20Ā° in either direction n hang the pot from its handles for a few seconds to cool it off ...
  • Hi Susan. Nice to see you posting again. Having watched this video I think it's time to move my Duo Crisp on and get a Pro instead. The finely variable control is the big plus for me, because although the DC has a lot of functions it's very much a case of stab and hope! And I already have a slow cooker, air fryer, and sous vide stick, so those three don't come into the equation. I doubt if I'll be able to get a replacement in time to cook tomorrow's ham hock, (!!) but the Pro will definitely be up and running in plenty of time for Christmas!
  • Absolutely adore your channel! It's like an old friend stopping by. Thank you. {By the by, is the inner pot for this PRO the same as the EVO inner pot? Thanks in adavance.}
