INJURY & A NEW JOB: Half Marathon Training Series

Published 2023-01-17
I’m training for the Farnborough Half Marathon on 22nd January 2023. Follow my journey on the ups and downs as a runner, hopefully smashing my PB for the Half Marathon, running sub 88 minutes. Which will be great training going forward as I’m running the Brighton Marathon in April for Breast Cancer Now.

If you're injured, ask your mum to write you a note for PE this week 😉 Best of luck for the half! 🎉🏃🏻‍♂️

Good news about the job. Hope you can make to Farnborough on Sunday as be good to see you.
  • Congratulations on ur new job Chris mum was a TA for around 20 yrs and she also worked with additional needs children a very rewarding if not challenging job …….as for the footie 🙈 it’s amazing isn’t it …. run for miles and feel amazing kick a ball and pull a muscles - I done the same when I started playing tennis with the kids it’s the different kind of movement than what we’re used to that does it ….. usually the stoppy starty changing of direction movements ……hope u get to run farnborough take it easy in the meantime no sudden movements ! Xx

Congratulations on the new job. You look very nice in your shirt and tie. I hope you heal up quickly and can get back to it. Good luck!
  • The new job sounds rewarding and good for your mental health. Helping others can be great sounds like a good fit for you. Hoping the injury doesn’t slow you down too much at the weekend and you hit the sub 127 I predicted.

Congrats on the new job! If it makes you feel any better I've been injured and unwell the last two weeks too, deciding Friday if I'm running Farnborough or not. Overdid it I think 😅
  • Congrats on the job Chris. Well done mate, and doing something really great. Sorry to hear about the injury. Hope it comes right quickly and you can get back on track for Farnborough. You'll be in my thoughts. Best as always, Phil

Congratulations on the new job Chris!!! And that is indeed an unexpected Injury. Sorry about that. Hopefully it is not too annoying.
  • Groin strain - maybe you can find someone to rub it better 🤭 Good luck with the TA job, have known a couple of people who did that in special needs schools and it's hard work but rewarding 👍
