Its not a cyber attack, it's just incompetence.
  • "Feels like a Cyberattack" by someone that's never experienced a cyberattack clearly.

As someone who works in IT, we had a hell of a morning trying to resolve our client's problems - but fuck this video. This was NOWHERE NEAR a cyber attack. Crowdstrike works with Microsoft on Cyber Security threat identification, and the engineers rolled out a faulty patch that was causing the BSODs. All news about this incident is infuriating and is honestly just incorrect. We work our asses off every day, and then they say things like this that make us look bad. Yes, it was a mistake on Crowdstrike - but fucking hell learn your facts!

This is the reason you cannot get rid of cash

The problem is relying totally on MicroSoft with no oversight on their system software. It’s always been unsafe.

That time when the IT World outsources servers, coding, deployment and testing to somewhere in the third world. Then it goes badly wrong.

This is why Microsoft having a monopoly on all tech is bad, when all your eggs are in one basket, when the basket breaks, it causes a massive mess to clean up! However I got this from other comments from apparent Microsoft engineers: "While it happened at Microsoft, the real reason everything bricked was an untested update to Crowdstrike, which effected about 50% of things tied to it, and 10% of Microsoft global IT systems." - I am not sure if this is true or not, but they are both to blame. Measures need to be taken so that we have actual backups. I mean so much stuff was affected its stupid.

This should serve as a warning against forcing us into a digital economy. We need to keep the availability of cash as a protection against cyber attacks.

I'm pretty sure Skynet is testing our Defence capabilities.

Didn't affect South Korea as they have their own operating systems for security reasons. Hahaha.
  • So strange I literally watched "leave the world behind" last night

Looks like we might be going back to the old days. Pencil and paper, writing, talking to one another, no texting, no emails, actual communication. Sounds like heaven.
