When I speak in tongues it’s usually when my spirit is overwhelmed. Either overwhelmed with joy, or overwhelmed as you said, in grief. That being said, it was very hard to go to church after leaving the Pentecostal church where the gift is exercised so freely, and realizing we’re not supposed to exercise that gift in church. There is still a worry in church that what if my spirit feels so full during praise and worship that I praise and worship in tongues? It’s quite the difference for sure.

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; From a Holy Roller, although I have never once "rolled".

I really appreciate this message and feel so blessed to be able to listen to Pastor Guzik. The only thing I disagree with him on is the gift of tongues. I have never been to a church where someone speaks in tongues and there is an interpreter. I do agree with Pastor Guzik that if there is no interpreter the person should pray to themselves.

There are Ministeries everywhere today where tongues is spoken where its more than one person doing so, but never an interpreter. This is so concerning to me. I feel that there may be a deception going on. I pray that people be very careful.

There are diversities of gifts but same spirit, (that’s the power of the Holy Spirit, miraculous gifts) different ministries but same lord,( this has to do with authority ) and diversities of activities but same God. ( this is the work but recognizes God empowers that work. If you notice the emphasis is to always keep in mind God instead of the gifts, ministries and activities. What Paul was trying to convey was that if you focus on the miracles , authority, and works and leave out God who provides these we will miss and not honor Him and eventually fall into error and confusion
  • Years ago, a woman in our Sunday School class was making fun of tongues and she called it 'gibbly goop'.
  • Ya dont need to yell bro with all respect. Its sad ppl dont read the word and rely on church. If I had done that when I first got saved I would never have got it. But its written on my heart bc when I read it (cover 2 cover) the Holy Spirit taught me. I was raised from my death bed in 1982. 15:16 I guess if you get excited you have a tendancy to raise your voice. I didnt get my gift right away I would say 6 months and I didn't realize I had it until I prayed for someone who was sick. My sister got her gift very soon after getting saved. It makes me think if you d9 not have one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit your not saved. Anyways 🔊👂 ouch Please soften it up bless your hear
