I played bass for a band called Malicious Hate that played with Xenomorph at International Metalfest 1995 in Knoxville. I remember Joe could barely stand and Sandy (Metal Mom, promoter) was crying because he was so frail, but he was up there doing his best. He passed not too long after that.

I've always loved Obscura by Gorguts ever since I first heard it. It sounds like the mind of a man who's been locked up and abandoned in an asylum for fifty years. One of the few albums to genuinely disturb me, with its wailing vocals and jarring instrumental dissonance. And I'll always be grateful to you for introducing me to Hatred For Mankind and To The Depths In Degradation. They've become some of my favourite albums of all time.

Great video. Really enjoyed discovering some killer new bands and hearing your description about them. Please continue making this style of videos.

9:30 wouldn't be a WyattxHim vid without it. Also, NWOMD (New wave of Melodeath) is a pretty killer genre name Ps. Love The Chasm mention, I think Arghoslent is very similar to The Chasm, in sense of melody and song structure. Same for Morbid Angel, one image I’ve seen of Arghoslent has a band member in Morbid Angel shirts (I think it’s Alex Halac).
  • Love your channel lately bro. No cheesy intro no bs just a knowledgable dude sharing what we are all passionate about. Fuck yeah. Thank you!
  • @milanbarac5832
I'm so glad you are back making this kind of videos! Many thanks

Nice to see that Lykathea Aflame album get some recognition; a truly special album. 👍👌 My favorite death metal album is and probably always will be Angelcorpse 'Exterminate'; that one charges me up like nothing else, as they plow their way through some of the meanest, filthiest death/grind known to mankind.. 😎
  • @ghost1x194
Always love your vids especially the longer ones man, especially coming from a vinyl collector and music fanatic
  • @curtisgeist6122
Great list. Have to give you a big personal thank you for introducing me to Death Karma as well. I love Cult of Fire and had no idea about this other project. Elite stuff!
  • @schillinger7814
Plenty of albums there I've never heard of that I'll need to check out!! Great to see Dragged Into Sunlight holding the top spot, one of my favourites too. Cheers!!!!
  • @meiko_kaji
Great list. Quite a few I will check out. Thanks!
  • @c4gam1ng12
Great to find someone else who prefers Cryptopsy’s debut album over None So Vile. While the latter is an amazing album to this day, the debut is more appealing to me due to like you said: how wild and chaotic and raw it is. Great list. Definitely going to have to check out some of the albums on here.
  • @forgemastermetal
Hell yeah man - we've got a ton of overlap. That Lykathea Aflame record needs to be talked about more, stoked to see it here.
  • A couple of bands on here that I've never heard before. I'll definitely be checking those out. You have a handful of albums in your top 25 list that would make mine, but we're born decades apart, so we have to take that into account. Bravo Wyatt. Bravo!!!
  • Definitely cool to see Molested, Intestine Baalism, and The Chasm on there! I'll have to check out Followbane, never actually heard of them but they look pretty interesting. Cryptopsy's first is also definitely their best for me, though it has more to do with the melodic parts like in Serial Messiah and Abigor, and how catchy the opening build-up in Gravaged is.
  • 4 of these are in my top 20 as well The Chasm and Morbid Angel are also on my list, just different albums. The fact you have no Immolation or Gorguts hurts my soul a little bit though. Those would be my #1 and #2
  • Wyatt, your videos are phenomenal and full of new stuff to hear, the albums that have stuck with me since I’ve started to watch your videos are amazing and I can’t thank you enough! These are my Top 10, feel free to recommend anything! 1)The Chasm- Deathcult For Eternity 2)Intestine Baalism- An Anatomy of the Beast 3) dISEMBOWELMENT- Transcendence into Peripheral 4) Anhedonist- Netherwards 5) Kronos- Colossal Titan Strife 6) Infester- To the Depths… 7) Xenomorph- Empyreal Regimes 8) Cenotaph- The Gloomy reflection of our hidden sorrows 9) Mortal Decay- Forensic 10) Broken Torso- The Ultimate Abhorrence
