Oregon's Silver Falls State Park has one of the best hikes in the state. The trail of ten falls takes you to ten different waterfalls over 8 miles and it is amazing hiking through the lush green forest surrounded by creeks and waterfalls. This place looks so magical like Lord of the rings, just spectacular! I live in Eastern Oregon, moved here from Humboldt County California. I miss the lush green landscape and this looks pretty similar to Arcata, just minus the beach.

I did this Trail today. And I Loved it. I was walking and took a lot of photos so it took me 4 hours. It's a 10 mile hike because you have to add the trail that takes you back to the starting point where you parked. Twin falls and Drake falls are harder to see compared to the other Waterfalls.

Just did this hike last week (only 2.5 hours from Bend) and loved it! It’s very breathtaking!

Thanks for this video, my wife and I are gonna head out to Silver Falls in first week of Sept (hopefully all the kids will be back in school). Can't wait to do the 16mi trip. Trail looks to be in great shape, Multnomah Falls trails were very rough with many areas degraded and sharp drop offs if one makes a misstep results could be fatal ... but still very enjoyable (about 6.9 mi)

Did this hike a week ago and actually saw a bear near lower south falls. Very cool!

I hiked to see many of the waterfalls in this state park in 2013, it is indeed a tropical rain forest in Oregon of all places in terms of its beauty. I ended up there as I was touring US National Parks in the Pacific Northwest on a self guided trip, of course picking tour guides along the way when offered, a man who had been to Silver Falls SP said I had to go. I looked it up online and instead of returning home, extended my tour so I could see Silver Falls and also Olympic National Park using Salem as a base. I love the US National Park system and the State Park systems, the people I meet are always saying "This is better than Disneyland" because of what these systems can show us in terms of scenery, flora and fauna. When I was a business traveler (I always had an apprentice with me helping me with odds and ends), if our employer put a day off into our schedules, which they would agree to do if we did back to back systems implementations, I'd rent a car at my expense and invite my apprentice to enjoy a national park or state park with me. It always made their day, and kept them working for us, because though the money was not much, they got to see our country and when I worked outside of the US, a little of our world. Out of more than a hundred such assignments, I took my colleagues to amusement parks (we were all young then) just a handful of times, otherwise we toured state parks, national parks, or the odd museum if no park was available, and I'd pay their way because they were good to work with, and always had my back.

How long did it take you to hike the entire trail? Love your videos.
  • I live in Salem Oregon and it’s only 25 miles from my house to silver falls and I love going here. It’s so beautiful and a great day trip. Pack a picnic and enjoy the day! Glad to live so close to such beauty!

Silver Falls is one of the most special places I've ever seen.

Thank you so much for this video. I just came back from a 11 days road trip from Oregon and we had the pleasure to go to Silver Falls because of your video. We had a great time and it was beautiful!!!!
  • Great video! I live about 30 min from the falls, I’ve only seen the first fall. I need to see all of them now! I’m also from S. CA, the lush green of Oregon is so beautiful.

I’m also from SoCal. I have never been to the PNW, and hope to visit Oregon someday.
  • If you make it up to Washington I’d love to show you some amazing hidden waterfalls that I’d put up there with the best the PNW has to offer
  • two questions: what month were you there? And Is it like a big loop so you could maybe do 1/2 of it one day and 1/2 another day? (so split it to roughly 4 miles a day).
  • @eh21733
When you go started what trail head did you start at to go in that order? When you ended where was the exit out to find your car?

From Southern Cali, View Park and great job dude. I was blessed by a friend that took me to Silver Falls as a surprise. Taking me back hitting all the water falls. Even going off trail man for the hell of it.
  • Guys, i am going last week of july, is there still a good amount of water to be able to apreciate the falls?

Amazing video. We're from so. Cal too and yearn to see waterfalls and forest. This is a must-see/do when I take my daughter to Oregon next month. Thank you so much!
