I had this issue a few days ago, and your solution worked! Today however, I ended up resetting my PC for another reason, and when reinstalling all my app's I found that I can now use the newer version.

This video fixed my issue. My windows 11 did not run the latest RStudio so I did download an old version and finally works.

A little help here ! I’m using windows 8.1, installed the latest R for Windows, and the latest RStudio. After installing both programs, R seems to work launch perfectly as it should. But RStudio, on the other hand, doesn’t do anything… Pressing Ctrl while opening doesn’t help… reinstalling both doesn’t help ( I even went to refrresh my whole laptop), disabling Windows Defender didn’t help (I do not have any antivirus)… Anything else I should try aside from buying new laptop ? Thanks
