Bevor Elvis Presley 1954 mit seiner allerersten Single „That's All Right Mama“ die Welt der Popmusik für immer veränderte, wollte er Gospel-Sänger werden. Diese unbekannte Seite des King möchte nun „Stars in Concert“-Produzent Bernhard Kurz mit seiner Show „Elvis Presley‘s Favorite Gospel Songs“ den Fans näher bringen.
Die Lieder werden präsentiert von Grahame Patrick, bekannt aus „Elvis – Das Musical“. Von Elvis’ Weggefährten wird der gebürtige Ire wegen seiner stimmlichen und optischen Ähnlichkeiten auch als „bester Elvis seit Elvis“ bezeichnet. Unterstützt wird er von dem Gospelchor „The Stamps Quartet“, den Elvis auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Karriere verpflichtete und der ihn von 1971 bis 1977 bei 1.000 Konzerten begleiten durfte. Deren Lead-Vocalist Ed Enoch steht seit nahezu fünf Jahrzehnten auf der Bühne. Er hat den Megastar selbst erlebt und seinen Lebensweg mit ihm geteilt. Presley stellte ihn bei all seinen Konzerten immer mit den Worten vor: „Ed Enoch – the best and most powerful lead vocalist in the world.“

    I was fortunate to have met Grahame, who performed as ELVIS in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention Hall a couple of months ago. He was almost like Elvis live. God Bless this guy and his team. Well done.

Have enjoyed Elvis das Musical on Tour for the 5th time ...hope to get Tickets for a 2023 Show and am crossing fingers/toes for a Gospelshow at Estrel winter 2022 :)
