  • Rishi seemed to have more depth of knowledge, more open and honest and clearer plans and vision. Liz doesn’t seem to read the policies, says I don’t know the details, keeps say I will ‘deliver’ seems rather clueless. Answer on nhs question was poor.

    I will, I won't, I am, I'm not, I did, I didn't, I'm yes, I'm no.. I'm Liz Truss. Rishi Sunak for PM
  • She says she doesn't have the detail on the civil service pay policy. She was presented with the figures, feedback from Conservative colleagues, and we got neither substance or insight in response. "I am the type of person that..." is not a sound basis for responding to policy discussion let alone running an economy. I wasn't impressed in the least.
  • @exp10rer
I never liked them both...but after watching this I'm convinced that Rishi Sunak is way better than his opponent. He knows what he was/is talking. He should be the PM.
  • @zaidhakim
Rishi is more competent than Liz, he has ideas and yes he may not be perfect (no one is) but he comes across as someone who knows what he is doing.
  • @ezeychi
Based on this debate, Rishi has my vote
  • The idea of Truss as PM in this economic climate is scary quite frankly. Her conviction coupled with terrible judgement is dangerous
  • @j.s.8196
Im not in favor of both nor the Tories clowns, but FFS not Lizz , she will bring a catastrophic fate for the whole of the UK 🤡
  • I am impressed with sunak here, he has a better grip of the economic understandings which is what we need right now.
  • @KL12199
Kay Burley has done her research. Truss looked ridiculous.
  • @ED-zt3gf
Truss is already outright lying, she knows exactly where the 8.8bn was supposed to come from. She's scrapping the policy even though the policy wasn't wrong and it was just misinterpreted, if it was misinterpreted as oppose to being a horrendous policy just explain it better and keep it. Don't know why everyone's pretending this was close when like 80% of hands were for Rishi. I think they're both pretty bloody awful and untrustworthy but this wasn't close.
  • Sunak 9/10 Truss 4/10. Truss did not come across as competent at all. We need an economic maestro to guide us through the next 2 years, and I think this is the best person to do it, no doubt
  • Kay Burley shouldn’t be involved in any media job more complicated than a paper round.
  • See Liz was avoiding answering questions, often all that is required is a simple yes or no.
  • @ShaunWortley
Thankfully this is the only election Truss could ever hope to win
  • @Abman31
honestly, Liz came across as a career politician (lying & deceiving) by not answering questions directly. if she is asked about a wall ,she will answer about a door . she is not even willing to apologise for her mistakes . On the other hands ,Rishi came across as a sincere and honest man
  • Corporate profits and CEO pay have gone up exponentially since the 80s while wages have lagged behind. I would've wanted to ask Liz if incentivising business with low tax and generous support from government is key to general prosperity, why is the evidence of the last 40 or so years showing that profits trickle up not down? From the FT in May: "Figures published last week by the Office for National Statistics showed average earnings in finance were 25 per cent higher in cash terms in March than the pre-coronavirus pandemic level, outstripping the 15 per cent growth seen over the same period in mean earnings across the economy as a whole." The corporates have been doing alright Liz. It's the wage slaves that are hurting.
  • @Steve-bo6ht
They are going to pick Truss aren't they 🙄 it's obvious that Sunak has a massive understanding of the economy and would make much better choices for the country.
  • @Wunderkinddd
Rishi is going to help this country, Truss will ruin it. It’s that simple.
