I've seen so many ads for Temu and it always looks too good to be true 💀
  • @dellapitre4520
I got the same 168 markers at the end from Temu for under $10. It was when they first started pushing sales. There was a massive discount. When my husband tried to find them to buy more for the grandkids, the prices were up. I guess I got lucky...🤷‍♀️

As an art teacher, Temu has been helpful in stretching dollars for student grade supplies

Baohong is the only brand of watercolor paper worth getting from Temu. It's 100% cotton, and really damn good for the price (especially their Academy line).

Thank you for being the first person I've seen to acknowledge the poverty angle. I could buy one shirt at Walmart or 3 from Shein, and I only do that once or twice a yr, I don't like that it's what I can afford but I feel more confident in clothes that aren't from my only local store
  • @shoie1121
For the brush drying rack, the cardboard paper is a protective layer over the acrylic. You're meant to peel it off, like the plastic film over new screens. :)

I love that you pointed out that for people of low income, Temu does indeed feel like "Shopping like a billionaire ". I very rarely buy brand new clothes. I shop at thrift stores and market place. But I was able to get an entire winter wardrobe, for under 100 bucks! I was delighted! I haven't bought new in 15 years!

As someone who's newly into collage art and junk journaling, thank you for this video. I'm always so lost with what kind of paint, paper, etc that i can find for a good price that's not a scam and this taught me a lot about what to look out for.

The fact that she still wanted to upload this video for us after that lighting... ✨she’s a true one✨ ❤️❤️❤️❤️
  • @emzyv9359
i love that rae tells us "yeah our house was struck by lightning" and then says "anyways, here's my art!"

I’m from England. Shein is still VERY popular here. I personally have never ordered from there. I get my clothes mainly from charity shops. Recently, the amount of shein stuff I’ve seen there is so scary. Just goes to show how much people are buying and throwing away.
  • just a quick note, the brown paper on the makeup brush dryer is meant to come off before use. It's a protective coat to keep the acrylic from getting scratched. :)

im so glad you pointed out that some people can only afford fast fashion instead of just saying its bad and so are you for contributing because like yes i feel upset about it but if i can spend $30 on 2-3 full outfits over a single pair of pants anywhere else then im going to do it because living is too damn expensive
  • @teej6529
Glad you're alright after that lightening scare. Awesome artwork. 👌

I broke my back 23 years ago. I was a freight train conductor and made a lot of money. I can't buy anything for myself on ssdi except on Temu. Now, I usually get one or two tops because I don't have more than $30 in the any given month for myself, and so far I am enjoying everything I've gotten from them. I buy a lot of art supplies here.
  • @sillyjilly1855
Temu honestly seems like one of those things that seems great at first but then years later we come to find out that some real shady stuff was going on behind the scenes.
  • @fionna_cool_girl
I usually use Wish, Shein, and Temu to buy cheap art supplies. Prices are getting so outta hand that they feel like the only places to get affordable art supplies as a beginning artist
  • @rubybuttons668
I wish someone who knew their chemistry would test a lot of these crazy cheap art products. I would be very interested to know what cheap harmful substances they are using to keep costs down. I’m always very sceptical with things too good to be true, there is no way they safety test those products. Always enjoy your reviews Rae x
  • @chai5301
Hope youre okay Rae. Thank you for talking about the people that arent so lucky, as someone who didnt have a lot sometimes that means the world to me.

Prismacolors are my absolute favorite to draw with. They are sooooooo pigmented and so effortless to use
