First of all, how is $300k considered "affordable housing?" And WHO is going to pay that to live crime riddled Englewood?
  • An investment is not the same thing as actually living in the area. The point is not to uplift the community, as they are trying to portray it, but benefit from gentrification. There is no interest in helping those in the current community or home income households. They want those frustrated with overpopulation in the northside and inadequacy in the suburbs. This is a facade and not a good one.
  • Did this guy just say $300,000.00 to live in a shipping container and they got the property for almost nothing, 300 thousand can build a really nice 3 bedroom 2 bath home with a basement
  • They keep repeating that word “luxury “ I don’t think they know what exactly it means

    300 thousand? In Englewood????
  • This is the most bologna I ever ate before. 300k house in Englewood aka "gentrification" Example: they also built a whole foods on 63rd and Ashland that is now closed because it wasn't affordable enough for the community. Investors just say we're trying to make some money once the gentrification is finished.

Will this stop the Mass Shootings every week?
  • My friend's father bought one of these containers and turned it into a living space for her in the backyard. I remember this container being very hot when there was no air conditioning running. Keep in mind the air conditioner had to run 24/7 for the unit to be cool. They are not telling people the whole truth about these used containers. These containers are made of steel and get VERY HOT! If the power went out on any elderly people living in these, it would be very bad.
  • They look like modern trailers and no I think it's not worth the money they asking for.
  • For 225 stacks I could build the damest bi-level ranch with 2 baths and attached garage! ...This is a shakedown !
  • @Starman594
They are not trailer parks, there container parks. Get it right.
  • Put bars on the Windows for the finishing touch and you got yourself a robber proof home

Darrel Burton was a member of my childhood church. He never came across as a caring individual. He was always about money
  • You have got to be kidding......how many hours have these 2 spent in these metal nightmares????????

How long will it last before it starts looking like tent city afterwards
  • @Carl_Jr
Sustainability is non-existent. Why not just put up double wide trailers? 🙄 Also, they're using brick and mortar construction as a comparison when structural lumber is about 1/3 of the total cost in materials and labor.
