I have built several speaker enclosures. I use JBL components, many wood screws, much internal bracing, and Baltic birch plywood. The results are staggering to say the least. You re-coned your woofer(something I don't know how to do)made your own amp(again, I can't do)and crafted a decent cabinet, with what appears to be a good design. Bravo, my hat is off to you.

you still should have wrapped the unit's wires in foam. But put a gasket between the diffuser and the column - because air will pass there

Excellent use of the shims to keep friction down around the coil. Weight is your best friend! Use a little on the dust cap and use clamps around the surround to get a good seal. Could have used a beefier motor if you had one but I guess this one works for your application. Great job in all. Excellent craftsmanship!
