If you don't pay your property taxes, your house can be taken away and sold.

It's against our Constitution . No tax on dwellings. Abolish property tax now.

You spend half your life paying for property to still have to pay taxes...Bullshit
  • @nobodyisprfct
In other words you don't own your property. Because of property tax you have to work for corporations. If you can't pay property taxes you have 2 options. Become homeless or live in some subsidized program. There is a third option and that is a form of slavery to the federal government.

So yo I don’t actually own your homes. You still pay rent.
  • @joelvaldez5577
home owners, you are not owners of your home. fail to pay property tax, it will still be taken away from you. just pure greed.

WTF! All designed for you to toil and suffer, you can own your own home and they still can take it from you, on the other hand if your not paying rent or mortgage.....

Would love to get 90% of the homeowners in the county to refuse to send in anything. Does the county really want to look at imprisoning tens of thousands of people at once? And.. how do they think they should deal with seizing tens of thousands of homes at once? How about having tens of thousands of us show up at the tax office, at the same time. Every day. For a week or a month. What if the same 10's of thousands who refused to pay also refused to leave their homes, instead opting to defend their homes and their neighbors from those who would come in and take them by force..

High property tax is nightmare for home owner who dont have much money to pay when they lost their job and retire people can not pay too.

What they do is let someone own land in a rural area for years, putting their lives and livelihoods into making it something other than desolate land. As that person gets older, the county starts looking for developers they can partner with, and work some financial deals that are great for the developer and for the tax office... at the expense of course of the landowner, who hopefully by now is just about ready to retire due to age, and is less likely to fight back. when they opportunity is right .. they can play rate / value games with the tax.. so no one will be able to fford inheriting the land. the developers swoop in.. pay off the county.. grab the land and build wal mart stores and apartments.. or so it seems... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  • Tax is a fancy way of saying rent. You don't pay your rent they take it away

There's a guy here in NY who came from China and bought a 100,000 sq ft. mansion on 450 acres using a 501c3. The building is not a house of worship or school, and is not open to the public. His 501c3 is allegedly a conservation organization that seek to protect the environment and stop "global warming". Nobody really knows anything much about his organization I don't think he is paying any property taxes. The place is called the Arden House in Harriman NY.
