I made some verbal gaffes, like saying destroyer when I meant battleship, or seapower when I meant airpower, but Dad was excited. Can't wait to share the build and history of the USS New Jersey with you all!!

I got the same kit three years ago and when I have some time, I’ll assemble it. Tamiya makes really good model kits, good detailing

Also... amazing audio, dude. That's one of the hardest things to get right on a youtube video.

I love everything about this and you have the Daddest of Dad voices! Nerds are my people!

Despite how much scale stuff I do, it's been a loooong, long time since I've built a plastic model. I need to back up and just enjoy that for a while, I think.

That is rad.

I hope you watch all the dry-docking videos because there were a few things they found that are not shown on the models that they found on her. Have fun with the build!

Everyone should really think about and take stock of the date timelines provided in the first minute and 30 seconds of the video. This is a heavily armorered ship with a length 100 or so feet short of a modern carrier. The amount of time to build this ship is absolutely heroic... Love our navy and ship builders but I really dont think we cpuld ever hit those same numbers and timelines today. Navy should be concerned

And the 1983 version was the most badass, honestly.

I turned mine into the Wisconsin because that's where I'm from.

I call em freedom seeds.

I purchased a wood deck for my BB 62

Put together the Wisconsin in the seventies, but nowhere near what you do?
