The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) successfully intercepted Chinese and Russian warplanes flying near Alaska.

NORAD conducted the inception yesterday, which marked the first time the two countries had been intercepted while operating together. NORAD says the joint air activity was not seen as a threat.

  • We always go back and forth testing each others airspace with Russia, them working together with China is a bit different, but not surprising.

I thought NORAD’s only function was to track Santa on Christmas Eve?

Been happening all my life, I live here in Alaska. SNAFU
  • Um. If you don't know geography, you don't know. I suggest you look at the maps and read the history. We share a border with Russia, only the border is a bit under water for a small span. ALL THE TIME we and the Russians cross this imaginary border testing it, observing it, pretending our craft were off course and we allow them to fly back when checked and they allow us to fly back when checked. It's a game we play. Been that way since Russia was the USSR. Read your history, look at the maps. Ignore the fear mongering.

When they tell you not to worry is when you should worry

How the table has turned 😂😂😂
  • Isn’t this super common? Didn’t China send jets to a reporter flying near their airspace a couple months back?

Should also mention that Russia scrambled Jets to head off the NATO craft flying near Crimea yesterday. Its just cat and mouse game, as it has been for 70 years...
