Hello, Thanks from Bulgaria! I am reading your wonderful book. I am not an engineer, but, I am just keen to know how things work especially things that I "ride" on... also these days, our "engineers" know more with their mouth than their head, so I like to be prepared before I trust them with my valued ebike. Thank you again for your effort to share your knowledge.

I recommend using a gear puller to remove and reinstall the magnets.
  • I really like that video. I'm have that same problem hall sensor need to be replace . with that video helped me alot

Definitely solder next time...I have been twisting wires together for years...and the connections don't last in a moving environment. Oxidization gets the better of them over time and the connection will get weaker and weaker over time, adding extra resistence and heat. I would even suggest desoldering the wires from the hall sensor, and soldering motor cables directly to the PCB. If you want it easily removable, solder some type of plug...like an FDD connector or something. Otherwise a very informative video!

if you bang the axle with a dead blow hammer the cover pops off on the other side no need for putty knives

I just put one of those motors as a front wheel on a three-wheel mobility scooter along with its rear motor. I use the rear wheel off of a larger scooter that was two wheels 36 volts in front 24 in rear I don't run them together very much As they are totally separate systems

  • i did this just shortened the main wire and resoldered all the wires
