I did this 3-4 years ago. I did it the easier way. I bought a gallon of Elmer's glue and mixed gold milled glitter the same size like the one you have. I mixed it until it was well incorporated and simply painted it with a paint roller. The glue dries clear and it does NOT flake off at all. That's where my coffee bar/station is. Still looks good.

We did an area like this for a friend years ago. We found that painting the wall slightly darker than the color of the glitter reduced the look of patchiness and so did spreading it on in various arched strokes. When she moved out we went over the area with wire brushes and paint scrapers and it removed most of it, then she had painters spray texture the walls and you would never know it was there. In her second house she did this again in her daughter's room but she premade panels on posterboard and attached those to the wall with spray adhesive then took her mixture and went over the seams where the panels met. It looks really good and removal should be pretty easy eventually. We did try the blow method you mentioned and also didn't find it to give as opaque a look as mixing did. This looks so sparkly and pretty!
  • "...but i want mine fabulously tacky..." 😂 This is an awesome video im definitely doing this to a wall in my room.

For people planning on doing this, I suggest wallpapering the entire wall and then follow with glitter. Then it is just like removing wallpaper instead of having to deal with glitter 😊

i love this idea. I'm going to do it but on top of material because I want to be able to keep all my hard work. and for those that's complaining about the removal just use corn starch on a fabric place the fabric on ur walls to protect it then apply what you like. when ur ready to remove it just spray warm water and peel.

I do not comprehend the posters saying how hard this is to remove and they act like she has ruined this wall FOREVER..............come on, really, a sander ,some drywall compound, and about 1 hours worth of work and BOOM  fixed...I admire her for going OUTSIDE the typical box and taking a risk....ITS HER WALL....

Everyone's complaining about the removal and suggesting wall paper but wallpaper is just as hard to remove. It's her home so I don't see why people who don't pay her rent/mortgage have an opinion.

I used Christmas wrapping paper and a staple gun. Much easy to take down when you're ready for a change. This is nice but gosh it looks like a lot of work and a pain to remove. I used silver glitter paper from Walmart regular Christmas wrap $2.47 a roll I used 5 rolls. Took an hour to put up then I sprayed clear lacquer to keep the glitter in place. This was extremely inspirational. I love my walls. Thanks for sharing. I love creative people. Now that I think about it a coat of Elmer's glue would work better it has no smell and dries clear. I creaky love this.
  • I love this! I'm definitely going to use your glitter method using stencils and adding nice accents on my walls.

Omg this would be SOOOOOO cute in a little girl's room!!!!! It would also be cute if someone did a chevron pattern the actual chevron would be glitter and the background would be plain.

I had that issue too in the beginning till I added a lot more glitter and did extra coats. It was a smooth finish but you did a great job.

I love the idea of a glitter ✨ wall but I think I will paint my wall silver or chrome first !!

This is SO bad ass! I'm in LOVE! I'm so glad to have found you, I saw this technique via Google on smaller, accent pieces, but of course, I want my wall fabulously tacky as you said! Lol I LOVE YOU! Can't wait to try, I'm doing mine in black. Awesome idea with the differentiating glitter flakes. I want the chunky look too! Can't wait! Great share!
