  • Look at how the defense was in the backfield almost every carry for Barry. This is what he had to deal with in Detroit SMH
  • Barry was such an amazing back. For him to accomplish what he did playing behind that terrible line is remarkable. Imagine what he’d done if he’d played behind Dallas’s line.

I remember this game. Barry Sanders, for those of us that were alive and watching, was on tv a lot. That was his blessing and his curse. Chuck Schmidt the GM for most of his career and the Ford family realized that they could sell out their stadium, make a profit of his jersey sales and get national exposure WITHOUT putting a lot of money into their team because of BARRY SANDERS. There's been a lot of chatter on what Sanders was and wasn't. Even in this very thread there are some making comments on his countenance. Sanders was never overly expressive, verbally or otherwise. He simply came to prepared to work and did his job better than just about any RB before him. The Ravens front seven has taken up residence in the Lions backfield for most of the game. NO RB is going to be productive with this type of penetration. He didn't lose yards because he gave up too much ground, made to many moves, there was SIMPLY NO PLACE TO RUN. This is game is a microcosm for the mans entire career. He played ten years for this franchise. 1,491 yards was an OFF year for Barry Sanders.

Who would’ve known that this would be the last game of the greatest RB in NFL history
  • @sabanite08
I still have disdain for what the lions did to Barry. He will always be my favorite running back
  • @Justmyopinion_305
Ray Lewis was 6’1 240 and the say that’s small, this man was knocking people back
  • @jonsmith4876
This just proves the greatness of Barry and how he is the best running back ever to do it these lions teams were so bad they said a 1500 yard season was a bad year for him like damn
  • @kill863
Little did we all know plus barry. That was the start of a reign of terror. That defense for 3 straight years didnt give up a 100 yd rusher until LT came along and snapped it

When you see the guys Barry played with, you see why he retired in his prime. He was like "I'm over it"... Imagine if Barry was in those 90's Cowboys, 49ers, Packers, Steelers or even Broncos offenses...man

I watched nfl back in the 90s and Tackling Barry was like drinking soup with a fork. Ray Lew in his prime was an unstoppable force also
  • @MrTPain
HE IS THE BEST RUNNING BACK IN THE WORLD. the best.

I didn't realize how good Tony Siragusa was. If he played in an era where they talked about defensive tackles he would get so much more credit.
  • @stardust1621
All those Legends are out there. Rest in Heaven Tony Siragusa.💜🖤💜🖤 👑
  • If I had to play behind this line I would retire to, he walks back to every huddle like “Man I’m done with this shyt” 😂😂😂
  • @fazjewls14
Shows you how sorry the lions offenses was. If Sanders had the Cowboys offenses line you looking at 35k yards easy and 5 super bowl rings
  • @JacksonMeyer
Those lineman were darn near letting guys into the backfield. Unreal.
  • @demarcomartin1956
Barry vs the whole Ravens defense? I would have retired early to!
