If you look at the size of the in wall air conditioner units in many hotel rooms, you will notice that they are all much larger. This portable unit is much smaller so naturally it's not going to cool as fast as something that large.

That said, it does cool well, especially the closer you are to it. It can also cool my entire condo by some amount, although not instantly. I use fans to blow the cool air from the room the air conditioner is in, to other areas of the condo. It's better than nothing, especially when it's over 80 degrees inside (I typically only turn it on when it's 80 or over inside).

This is also one of the more attractive portable AC units to my eye and I can easily wheel it in to a closet for storage when I'm not going to use it, like for the winter, etc. It's not super loud, although you probably can't listen to music or watch TV with it in the same room. I can work or read in the same room no problem though.

I also purchased a third party sliding door mount which works well as the include mounts are only for a window, so are not tall enough for a slider.

  • Heat waves in the bay!!!! I just ordered one via Amazon tonight. I cannot do another heat wave here in the Bay without an A/C in my room. At night, these units are a must have!!!

Thanks for your time, video and great explanation 🙏🌱
  • Works best in a small room with the door closed. I have one of these portable air conditioner units and trust me a small room is where it works the best. Plus keeping the door closed helps a lot.

Also in Bay Area. Townhouse rules make it difficult to add central AC. Based on your review I've just ordered both components. Looking forward to solving this conundrum. If it works, I'll order a second one!

Its cute when you say above 80 degrees, being someone from AZ

the piece that fits in the window is too long what do I do. I'm thinking to take it apart and covering the rest with something else. I don't have anything to cut it shorter and I'm afraid I'll crack it.
  • Good day. Very informative video. I live in South Texas, near the bay, where it it's extremely humid. Today the high will be 94 with a Heat index of 110 and humidity at 97%. I live in a very old house with central air but no insulation. Only some outlets are 3 pronged, most are two pronged. I spend most of my time in a the living room, which is very small, and the outlets are two pronged. I'm assuming all portable AC unit plugs will be 3 pronged. This unit seems ideal for my needs, but I'm afraid to order it only to have to return it because I can't connect it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good review. Thanks for the link to that sliding door kit, that helps. BTW, what kind of chair is that to the left of the AC unit.
  • Does it have a Dehumidifier option? If yes, do you have to drain the water like the ordinary dehumidifiers?

I live on the bottom floor and the windows are only about 7-8 inches from the floor. I have been anting to get one of these for my bedroom, but I’m super concerned of critters crawling into my house through the hose that goes outside or the cracks around the window due to the installation. What prevents bugs, rodents or lizards from crawling into the house via the hose?

I have one just like this other than the btu on mine is 8k. It cools half our 1600 square foot house. The ratings suck, suggested to only work in 250 square feet. You use fans baby, it works. I keep hearing ppl say its really loud, mine is almost silent. It sits next to my cabezza and i dont even have to turn up me volume. Quieter than my regular 12” fan.
  • How would this do when there is smoke in the air from a wildfire? I live in fire country and often have to deal with heavy smoke in the air. Will it filter out the smoke or will I be filling my room with smoke? Thanks!
  • @sisserbee
What does it look like from the outside? I want this but I’m scared my HOA won’t like it as my window is the front of my house
  • @tbenoit1540
What is the lowest temperature setting? Also can it continuously blow cold without kicking on and off?
  • @bunggbungg7787
Does your condenser shut off and turn back on randomly?
  • What size is the exhaust holes and is it clock wise or counter
