I started learning Spanish 56 years ago. Got my degree, in Spanish philology. Been living in Spain for 46 years now And I can say, con conocimiento de causa, como decimos por aquí, that this is an excellent explanation
  • @mells2187
This is the best explanation i have ever heard!! literally no one truly explains it and rather says "well yeah its something between b and v".... what? so thank you!
  • @NaijaNomadz
Fellow YouTuber here in Spain. Thanks for all you do.
  • @kfischek
Great lesson. I may be advanced, but these lessons are needed to actually improve.

Lobo, Uva ... say it as if the b and the v were a w ... that's a new thing for me - thank you!
  • @AntiquatedApe
I just pronounce the b and v sound together as one sound. Naturally some words will sound more like b and others like v this way. It's worked very well for this güero I've received many compliments from the viejitos. That being said there is a distinction between the b and v sound in many parts of Mexico South America and Spain. It is a regional thing the same way voseo or tuteo is.
  • Wow! Great video. I had NO idea about the pronunciation of b and v when between vowels. Struggling a little not saying b, but your explanation really helps. Thanks.
  • @lemireba1
This was so helpful. I will definitely have to practice.

you are doing a crear job. because you are teaching the Real Spanish in the street. B and V have differents pronunciation, but when the people are talking usually we use the B sound. congrats!
  • @jasonshaw4230
That " consonant we don't have in english " sounds a lot like a 'w'
  • This is just great! I'm learning Spanish using the Duolingo app and it doesn't explain pronunciation and often confuses me by saying the same word differently in different exercises. Listening to your videos I am starting to understand why and will definitely move faster in my studies now. Muchas gracias señor!
