Pat’s Midge is Dorsey’s new trailing shuck midge dry fly pattern. This pattern is extremely useful in sizes 18-24, covering midge hatches year around! On technical tailwaters, this is a fantastic option to fool weary trout. Yet, this pattern also thrives on freestones and smaller creeks. Midges are a vital part of a trout’s diet, and a great midge dry is absolutely necessary for the dry fly angler. The white Z-Lon loop wing, along with the trailing shuck, peacock herl thorax, and grizzly hackle make this pattern a dead on match for the body profile of the naturals, while floating just right to entice the fish below.
