How To Make Smoked Pig Shots On A Pellet Grill | Pig Shots Recipe

In today's video I'm talking smoked pig shots on a pellet grill! If you've never had pig shots you are in for a treat! Basically this pig shots recipe consists of a few ingredients, a little bit of time, and you end up with an awesome snack or appetizer! Basically a pig shot is a piece of sausage with bacon wrapped around it to form a little "shot" glass, then filled with a cream cheese mixture of your choice. For this pig shots recipe I used cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, and some seasoning. They are absolutely delicious and you HAVE to give these a try!

Now let's get into the cook:

| Ingredients |
-Smoked sausage
-Bacon
-One 8oz block of cream cheese (softened)
-1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (or cheeses if your choice)
-One diced jalapeño
-Tailgaters BBQ Party Rub
-SuckleBusters Honey BBQ Rub
-BBQ sauce of your choice

The Prep:
1. Cut the sausage into approximately 1/2” sized rounds.
2. Mix softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and jalapeño together and then
season with Tailgater's Party Rub to taste.
3. Wrap a half piece of bacon around the sausage to form a shot class mold.
Use a toothpick to hold the shape by putting the toothpick through the bacon into
the sausage from the bottom of the shot glass.
4. Once the shot glasses are formed, fill them with the cream cheese mixture
using a spoon, or a Ziplock bag by piping it into the shot glass.
5. Once the pig shots are made, season with a light layer of Honey BBQ Rub.

The Cook:

1. Set your smoker to 300º and put the pig shots on for one hour.
2. After one hour check the bacon for doneness, when the bacon is done the pig
shots are done.
3. Once the bacon is done, glaze with a light layer of BBQ sauce and let the
glaze set for 3-5 minutes.
4. After the sauce is set, remove from the pellet grill and let cool 15-30 minutes or
until cool enough to eat.

I love that you used Andouille sausage for those pig shots. Great idea adding some jalapeno to the cheese!!!! Those shots looked mighty fine and I'll have to give them a try sometime! Cheers to ya Darrin!!!!

  • I love this recipe! I made these pig shots earlier this summer and I used mostly sweet pepper and onions that were glazed in maple bbq sauce at the end - I think they came out great 👍 Next time I will make two batches - one sweet and the others will pack more heat. Thanks so much👊🏻👊🏻

Probably one of the best recipes for smoking that I have yet enjoyed. Just one little thing that might make life easier - I used whipped cheese with chives. Worked like a charm. Thanks for a fantastic recipe.
