7 Reasons you should pursue full and lasting pleasure in God: 1. We are commanded by God to be happy in God. 2. Conversion to Christ is the awakening of a superior pleasure in God. 3. Being supremely satisfied in God is part of what saving faith is. 4. To find your superior satisfaction anywhere else but in God is the essence of evil. 5. Jesus’ teaching about self denial is based on this pursuit of joy. 6. You cannot love people the way you should if you are indifferent to your joy in God. 7. God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in Him.

One of the best sermons I have ever heard. Packed full with truth and wisdom only The Holy Spirit can give. God is working mightily in you Pastor! Praise God!
  • I really like the way he starts his sermon. Testing people's message through God's Word (the Bible) is the most accurate way to judge and that is the rightful way to know if someone's message is really from God.

I'm so grateful for these full length sermons.... I've found myself quite housebound for the past year and Youtube and other video platforms are a huge "escape" for me... and 95% of the content out 'there' is soooo toxic, that having this sermon play and be heard for the last hour has been magical.... I've been struggling massively in my walk, and you'd think living a life quite secluded might make it easier.... it totally doesn't... Thank you so much for uploading/sharing this.
  • I knew he had one son who was a complete atheist and went off the deep end and mocks Jesus and his father, I didn’t know he had another son who was lost as well so I will definitely be keeping Pastor Piper and his two sons in prayer

Amen! God is the most glorified in me when I am most satisfied in Him. Having time with Him is the most joyful and happiest time in my life. 💕 God bless, Pastor John and all of you who are listening this amazing sermon from Him. 🙌🏼

@28:00-29:00 I think we can say, that, "to find ultimate satisfaction in anything other than God is the essence of evil" is as "thinking we can find ultimate satisfaction in something other than Truth/Love/Ultimate Reality" ... I'm so thankful He calls

Thank you Pastor John Piper for your joyful Ministry and Testimony :) PSALM 16:11 You make known to me the path of life: in Your Presence there is Fullness of joy: at Your Right Hand are pleasures Forevermore. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Amen

I pray that I find my satisfaction in God, I intellectually know nothing in the world will satisfy other than God and try to act that way. I trust God can and will open my heart and reveal his goodness and glory to me in a way that will satisfy. I don't always feel that, and I am tired of whipping my thought patterns. I rather act like I love God by following his commands, knowing God strengthens and aids me in that desire, and I will leave it to God to work on my heart.
  • No preacher has such passion for Christ which encourages me to always pursue Christ. Phil 1:20-23 ♥️
  • God is the supreme delicacy that everyone should enjoy for now and always. Always satisfying!
  • It’s good to find a preacher that is down to earth, and preaching the truth with love from his heart

What a powerful, meaningful, profound and impactful sermon! By far, this is the best sermon i have heard my entire life. Of course i'd heard a lot of great and life-changing sermons from different pastors & priests(i grew up as a Roman Catholic), sermons that gave&taught me fresh insights, lessons, warnings, and teachings or instructions that helped me through my life's journey & walk with God, but this one right here sure hits home... Glory to God for the wonderful & amazing people He put in placed to preach His Words and to continue what Jesus Christ & the apostles had started. Im so grateful that i was led by the Holy Spirit to this channel and to Pastor John Piper. This is an answered prayer on what my heart longs for & desires as i continue to grow my understanding & faith with our Lord Jesus Christ.. i mean since i know i am not that big in my faith yet, i keep on struggling with sin especially Lust, lying tongue & heart, impatience, and the allures designed by this world, i stumble at times, but this time with the help of the teachings, sermons and videos of pastor John(among other brothers & sisters of Christ that i follow in YT whom are genuinely inspired by our Lord and filled by the Holy spirit) alongside my daily devotion with the Holy Bible, prayers&fasting, and letting the Holy Spirit take the helm of my life, ill overcome & persevere ever more. Continue on the race, continue on the good fight of Faith... I AM GOING ALL OUT NOW WITH TRUE JOY & HAPPINESS! ILL LIVE FOR CHRIST! Thank you so much pastor John, thank you so much Lord Jesus for everything!❤ may we all continue our work in spreading the true Gospel and uniting as many people in all walks of life back to Christ. Bringing more to the Kingdom of God, our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus! Love you all and God bless!❤🙏

I just started listening and there’s two main things that are important one you only get this joy in the presence of God into it only happens when you’re rejoicing in God over everything else. There’s the answer. So if you have a joy that leaves it’s because of idols. Very simple. Someone dies, joy goes away. You get sick, joy goes away, you lose your house, your reputation, your money, joy goes away, it wasn’t in God. Let’s not be deceived.
  • Your concept of Christian Hedonism is spot on. If people truly knew what heaven is going to be like, their hearts would be circumcised immediately.
  • He is just totally amazing and word based which is a rarity these days God bless you Pastor John Piper
  • @Jen8973
Piper is amazing. He studies the puritans, like Edwards and interprets them for our ears. I long to know the fullness of God and to know a joy that goes beyond human comprehension
  • Thank you, pastor John. My congregation should definitely hear this message, so I am going to share it with them!
