  • First I thought it was Mad Honey because of the hallucinogenic properties of the honey, but then I realised it was because of how risky it was to get the honey.
  • I am a Gurung, and 'mad honey hunting' is one of our culture among many. But it is sad to say this culture is slowly dissappearing. Ive never seen any Nepalese media covering this, or promoting about it.

I love how they keep it as their culture instead of just getting money by over harvesting it,

$300 a bottle, and these guys probably get $3 for all the work.

This series always makes me so mad because the people who work the hardest and put their lives on the line get rhe least amount of money. I would gladly pay more knowing these harvesters get a more fair share and safety equipment.
  • Nepali people are very gentle and honest. Love for Nepal and nepali people from Bangladesh.🙏
  • I’m glad it’s so hard to get- and I hope the resource can be kept under local control.
  • Man those people are ready to everything and at the end says yea, I was difficult but not impossible. ❤❤Love To Nepal. ❤

I hope the outsiders keep themselves away from their hills. It’s amazing to see what they do to get this honey and how much they respect and appreciate their culture.
