Where are you located? I grew some in western NY this year. I read that the amount of rows of kernals is genetic, and the length of the ear , and number of kernals per row is due to climate and health of the soil. My uncle always bought the heaviest bags of seed corn he could get, he said it grew the biggest corn. My seed I bought was bin run for sure, there were 5/8" long ones, odd shaped from the big end, and the little popcorn looking ones from the silk end. This is a big corn and it needs room to grow, wide rows and about one plant per foot.
