As a state champion, Marek Bush has little competition. But when he faced a fierce component who got injured, he decided winning wasn't important. Steve Hartman has their story "On The Road."

In 20 years people are not going to remember how many times he won, they are going to remember that one match.
  • He's a product of great parenting and coaching, and his humility proves that his actions were genuine. What a great feel-good story. 👍
  • He was raised right. Kudos to his parents/Dad. What powerful show of sportsmanship.
  • I feel like his dads name was anticlimactic. “And his dad... bob”
  • Most people would never have heard about the state champion but his action supercedes sports and he will forever be remembered.
  • I admire what he did and seeing the referee and his dad tear up just talking about it really make me choke up too... But the real State Champion deserves some credit too! I mean wow, he went back in there with a broken elbow and still went on with the match like a real champ! WOW! Both young men deserves to get credit...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • 1:31 - "I know it makes me look . . . kinda like a . . . weakling, but . . ." But is right, few have the STRENGTH to do something like that.

True sportsmanship. This young man will go,far in life. A breath of fresh air nowadays. Thanks
  • He's already rich BEYOND his dreams. That's a powerful statement that he made. He won in life and his parents raised that man right.
  • This made me tear up. As a wrestling fan for 40 years, I've seen an awful lot go down at tournaments, not all of them so good, especially as the generations changed and it became more about pure winning instead of sportsmanship and having fun. And this amazes me! Weak? No kid; you're not weak. You have the strength of David and Samson combined! It takes a strong man to do the right thing! And so went a good deed in an unjust world. And I think God in his Heaven smiled just a bit that day!
  • Maybe it’s just my pride but I would hate if someone just let me win. I feel like it’s belittling.
  • Pure class. Probably gets it from his parents. In a world of selfish and self centered people we can all take a lesson from this young man.
  • “Guess i’m a weakling” nah ma. You’re stronger than most
  • Made me cry…what an amazing young man! Every parent should be this lucky!! No weakling here…just an awesome young man, who taught us all a wonderful life lesson!!
  • I watched this young man since he was in 4th grade while I was in 9th. His father was our coach my entire career. Both his son's have grown into such fine young men. I was at this tournament to see it live. Though I never knew it made national headlines. I was not surprised to see him do this because of the amazing character Marek is. Makes me feel old at only 23 years old to think he's a senior now. Mr. Bush did such a good job with all of us. We won with honor and lost with it as well. So proud of this young man. On or off the mat, he'll succeed
  • A class act through and through. Props to his parents for raising a great man. Hopefully he will go far in life.
  • Why am I crying? This young man is truly special, destined for greatness!
