With that porous wood floor in the stalls maybe it would be good to wash out and sanitize weekly and maybe put rubber mats underneath the hay and shavings, and put mats down in goat pen? This way it will be a little easier to clean? I know the rotten river brought in a lot more flies, but possibly will alleviate some of the flies? Happy fishing once you get your boat!

That’s cool you’re getting a new boat,can’t wait to see it! 😃 Dan,the horses really should have had water in their stalls overnight,especially as it’s hot in there & your weather is getting warmer.They can dehydrate real quick in those conditions & water in their stalls overnight is even more necessary if they had feed/hay as drinking water aids digestion..Lack of available water can contribute to colic & cause other issues too. Not getting on at yous,just concerned as could see how thirsty they were 🙁

When I had a horse, I added a supplement to his food each day that was a larvicide. It prevented flies from developing into adults. It doesn’t work immediately, but takes a couple of weeks. I had very good results with it. Since you have other family members with animals in close proximity, you may have to convince them to use it, too. Ask your feed supplier about it.

It was a great boat for you. So glad you are getting a bigger one for the grandkids. It will give them great memories with their grandparents.
