The shelf looks good, but keep in mind, that's a lot of vacant space, the TV still can mount over it, and fire place under it, when you're not watching TV, put it in picture art mode or just leave it off sometimes it's good to have it to entertain company or family when conversation is less❤❤❤

Just a suggestion, build a platform under the fireplace to raise it up to the height you want and paint the wood black. I also can't stand waiting on others.

You look so pretty with your braids. I like the shelf on the wall and yes, I would definitley add a fireplace under the shelf and a TV over the shelf.
