Follow a battalion commander through the trenches of eastern Ukraine as he prepares his troops for a possible Russian invasion. A Washington Post team traveled to the outpost of Novotroitske, where soldiers keep their eye on nearby positions of Russia-backed separatists, wait for more Western weapons and wonder nervously about Russia’s next move. They say they appreciate the help from NATO, but also know they will have to fight any battles alone. Read more: wapo.st/3LvTVHH. Subscribe to The Washington Post on YouTube: wapo.st/2QOdcqK

Can’t believe how brave this commander sounds, how positive. We wish them safety and victory.
  • I'm convinced that every Ukrainian soldier is special forces. They all fight like warriors. I have the utmost respect for them.

3:45 Breaks my heart that they keep up an American flag, yet we aren't helping on a larger scale. Ukraine, I'm former US Marine and I wish I could fight alongside you.

I fully support Ukraine. A sovereign nation has its right to decide the direction for its future.

All we hear about Ukraine over here is how corrupt their government is and how incompetent their army. The last month and all the stories about the real Ukraine changes all of that for me. The more I see of the real Ukraine the more I admire and want to support them. Stay strong, you have friends all the way across the globe.
  • keep vigilant 👀trooper🪖,and thanks for your service sir

Very impressed with the fighting spirit and sense of national pride that each and everyone of these soldiers/volunteers displays. "Witcher" appears to be a very good commander with the well being of his troops firmly in mind. Stay strong and resolute brave Ukainians, the World is with you. Unfortunately I am too old and physically restricted from joining you in your fight against this absolute tyrant and rabid dog, but mark my words, he will be put down!! All the best from an ex soldier in Australia. SLAVA UKRAINI!!
  • Respect pentru acești oameni care își apără tara cu prețul vieții!!! 🙏👏

the subtitles say "playing video games on old playstations" but i distinctly hear something about S.T.A.L.K.E.R

7 min video does not show how scary life is out there during a war. Imagine your station at your work place for a week or more. You can’t go home to your love ones, enjoy your sleep either. The biggest fear or paranoia that runs through your head constantly is “I could die any minute.”

This is wild for the first time in my life i see how this is i see these guys they are just regular people this is not a rich oligarch, he is a regular man, Witcher, he probably plays video games, but now he is batallion commander… idk what the solution is, but i think it is clear that Ukraine is not the aggressor here.
