Some countries are overly concerned with rehabilitation. Imagine wanting to send your best, the pride of your country, and one of them violated a child. The Dutch Committee should be ashamed. There is absolutely no excuse for what he did. I do not know a single person that wanted to touch a 12-year-old at 19, myself included.

Let's not play dumb here... my 14 year old knows actions like this would never be okay. How the hell would being 19 and still figuring things out suffice as any kind of excuse... send him home... Thats crazy. In dutch law you can serve "up to 8 years" when found guilty of raping a 12 year old but.. if guilty you dont have to serve any time in prison as there is no minimum sentence. He served 12 months in the uk, was extradited to netherlands and freed in 1 month

She was 12. She's gonna be affected by his action for the rest of her life. He should not be allowed to become a public figure in any shape/form.
