The shroud is for smooth air flow and better fuel economy, just like an airplane wing is smooth on both sides. It is developed in the wind tunnel testing. It is a pain to remove every oil change, but it directs cool air over hot parts as well.

My 2018 EcoBoost Mustang 2.3 takes six it's at the top of the hash mark and below the top hole about a quarter for dilution. 😊

When a youtuber DIYer tells you to remove a shroud or a cover and leave it off, I think it best to go to another video. It's there for a reason. That said however, it's good to know what I'm in for. I'll have to research that Fumoto valve.

I’ve done many oil changes. Always use fully synthetic oil. I us 5w30 Castrol. It’s good for 5000-8000 kilometres

curious, do you think the 2 plastic clips should be released last? Are they supposed to hold the shield in place while you take the 11 or 12 bolts out?

Hey MACT instead of the short FL-910 oil filter you can use the longer FL-400 filter, it provides more filtration area. As long as you have enough clearance below the filter which it looks like you do. I've been using the longer FL-400 filter for years in Ford 4-cylinder engines which called for the FL-910.

Good video. On 2020 Ford Edge, do not remove the bottom felt shield. There is a bare tube that hugs the oil pan, and it will be unprotected if the shield is removed. Also the felt pad plate screws holds the skid plate. Be careful.

That helps road noise a lot. For only 5 minutes of time I'm leaving mine on. It's not on the lessor models. The airflow is there because you miss the flow that the non titanium ones have by having that shroud covering it, so they added that to compensate But you look exactly like my uncle Phil. Like, exactly like him.

My buddy who is a Ford mechanic told me that the plastic vent directs air towards the PTU to help cool it.

Cool thing is I took your advice and left the Shroud off for the next Oil Change a my wife takes the car for a ride and a metal plate fell down and started dragging on the ground and now I have to drive to her to fix this

I am surprised you did not prefill the oil filter before installation. My others cars really growl until filter is full so I've learned to prefill to prevent engine wear.. please comment
