An overhaul of old improved Sundowner and Sam. Here's some general commentary:
SUNDOWNER
More balanced health pool, character speed is much more akin to default Sundowner with some exceptions (eg: recovery is fast but not by a lot; some attacks are faster so Sundowner doesn't look like a cripple and effects have been adjusted to the new speed), aggression has been increased, phase 1 Sundowner takes little damage but can be forced into second phase very early. On second phase, Sundowner can only be stunned by a perfect parry (damage has been reduced so it doesn't one shot on revengeance) giving you an opening to combo and deal significant damage. Pole attack is unblockable with a better visual cue than before.
SAMUEL
Like old improved Sam, he's faster but not to an absurd level, he's much more relentless instead. More visual effects on some attacks to make them look cooler. Originally, I wanted improved Sam to use style switcher for some more variety but unfortunately it doesn't work on the new version and I don't want to limit mod compatibility. Unlike Sundowner, Sam doesn't have a DT style aura but his sword will have electricity when entering phase 3. I felt a blood red DT aura for Sundowner was fitting (Mistral and Armstrong will have one too with different colors, while Monsoon has his purple magnetic mode). Unlike previous versions, Sam can be combo'd in air again but after some damage he will break the stun by escaping to avoid stun locking.

    1. Sundowner actually feels much more balanced in that there's merit in destroying his shields or not. You leave them alone and focus on Sundowner and you get a longer, but more manageable boss fight, whereas if you destroy them he both takes and deals way more damage, msking for a shorter but more hectic fight. 2. Sam is just straight up harder, but in a good way. He feels much more opressive and you have to dodge and block like crazy just to get a small opening. Which makes complete sense since Sam is the definition of a glass cannon.

I like that transition with the skybox after sundowner goes to his second phase and sam feels more dangerous than the raiden boss now

Still suprised how agile sundowner is For ya know.... Posing himself to be human tank I'd say he is 2nd fastest after sam Raiden say's that gimmicky shit like scissor blade doesn't have place in real battle But let's be honest on battle field as a solider you don't expect the guy with fuckin reactive tank armour straped to his back to move like honeybadger on a mission

3:55 how generous of Sundowner to throw his minion over to Raiden for him to slice him up and replenish his electrolytes

11:27 "Get ready." accidentally whiffs attack looks left looks right proceeds to continue beating the life out of Raiden
  • Raiden rocking the trench coat and white hair; he’ll always be an honorary DMC Devil Hunter

Sundowner's battle was perfectly lore BALANCED! I like the red aura effect on the second phase, it's similar to the Ripper mode and if I remember correctly when Raiden goes into Ripper mode there's the laugh vocal, it would be cool to add this also for Sundowner. More like: "I'm fking INVINCIBLE! Hehehe!" And I noted that you probably reduced the voicelines frequencies on the second phase, that's a great touch because it means for me that he's more serious and going for the kill than rather having fun as the first phase. Sam's battle was perfectly done I gotta say! Regardless it's always a pleasure seeing those works! Keep going!

Idea for Sam's second-phase grab: Perhaps there could be a yellow-glow undodgeable variation of it, like in the previous Improv Sam iteration?

1:37 Minor detail, but changing the voice lines in the transition actually makes it so much better to watch. His weird little silence and his grunting as he does a little shake was always just a tad awkward to watch.
  • These videos are always mesmerising. Watching you fight such difficult bosses like an absolute master is beautiful.

One thing ive always wished is to see a reload animation for Sam's scabard If they had just made the animation possible, you could do some silly shit like launch an empty cartridge at Raiden

Holy fuck, that beat drop timing with Sam's charged attack at 7:50 absolutely euphoric.
