What causes leg cramps and how do Carnivores stop them? Why should some people limit organ meats? What is mouth-taping and who should try it? Why do some people get yeast infections on a Carnivore Diet? Why do some Carnivores see their triglycerides go up? What is NEU5GC, and should we be worried about it? ALL IN 30 MINUTES.

From facultativecarnivore.com/about-the-author/:
"L. Amber O’Hearn is a data scientist by profession with a background in math, computer science, linguistics, and psychology. She has been studying and experimenting with low-carb, ketogenic diets since 1997, and more recently writing and speaking about her findings. Her review on the evolutionary appropriateness and benefit of weaning babies onto a meat-based, high fat, low carb diet, was included as testimony defending Professor Tim Noakes in his recent trial. Amber has been eating a plant-free diet since 2009."

Regarding breathing. Did you know that when you lose weight your tongue also becomes smaller by losing fat? A larger/fattier tongue can interfere with your ability to breath properly. People who lose weight often sleep better but almost no one talks about your tongue becoming slimmer when you lose weight.
  • My son owns a sale barn, and we know where all the cattle come from. Grass raised is how the cattle are raised, then my son will feed them out. The last beef I ordered from my son he had to tell me all about it and I told him to be nice and don't get it excited, keep it calm, bless it and thank it, (He understands me). We have in our area a couple of private processing business, and I ask my son which one is the best and best with "honor slaughter" fast and no pain. Every time I open a package, I find myself thanking it for supplying me with food. I now have another beef ordered and I think I will go when it is being slaughtered. Being from cattle ranching family and working around cattle all my life, I love these animals. It is all about being humane, being thankful and honoring them. Carnivore going on 2 years now.
  • Thank you, once again, for a very informative video. I started, low carb, then Keto, and now I’m trying to ease into carnivore. I hope to be completely carnivore by 2021. But, I’ve lost 74 lbs thus far from a starting weight of 263.

SO glad you're touching on the sleep strips! They have indeed helped my sleep. And, magnesium oil (spray) has helped me many times in the past when I started to get a cramp or even if I felt some RLS starting up.
  • I do sleep with my mouth closed, but I still get leg cramping. I use electrolytes now, but if I don't drink enough water, I get them. I was a little thirsty the other night, but too lazy to go to get water and went to bed. Horrible cramps that night!

Yeast die off reactions can happen after cutting carbs. Once it's out of the system it won't come back if she stays carnivore. Also processed meats and cheese have caused me issue with this. Fresh meat is best like Georgia Ede says! 👍🏻

I had severe leg cramps twice over several months. The first time a doc put me on a very low calorie diet. After I lost a lot of weight, ny leg cramps would get so bad, I stand by my chair at work in agony for several minutes massaging my leg, my calf especially. Went off that diet, regainedc30 out of 50 pounds back - no leg cramps. Fast forward to this summer. Biked in extreme heat, lost over 60 pounds, had leg cramps again. I suspect it was my electrolytes because of my weight loss and sweating in the heat. Its cold now, no excessive sweating and weight loss has tapered off, as I'm close to my 2nd and final goal. I'm already using a cap, and have for years, and I'm still a mouth breather. For me, its the electrolytes.

Thank you for this video regarding leg cramps ... at the same time as I started carnivore diet I also started using castor oil on my face and stopped mouth taping (wouldn't stay stuck). Until this video I had not put the two together, and my leg cramps have been tearful. I started an extreme electrolyte supplemental regimen with little success. Now that you mentioned mouth taping I will definitely reimplement it and move my castor oil to morning.
    Phew! Thanks again!

Oxalate toxicity causes yeast infection. The body starts dumping oxalates that it is storing when you stop eating plant matter.
  • @spaceman51974
Been mouth taping for 6 months now. Love James Nestor's book about nose breathing.

  • I love this. Amber is remarkably sharp and really great with explaining things in an easy to understand fashion. Love you both so much. Tons of fantastic & invaluable info here!!
  • Yes, Amber is so smart! Y'all are both just wonderful. I need to make a list of questions I have when I have them because I never remember what they are when anyone asks for questions.
  • @rayturnbule3257

Kelly dear your latest s podcasts are Spot on .!!!! You really have perfected your style in front of our eyes. Amber is such a joy to listen to and she is a fountain of knowledge but what I like the most, she applies common sense to her research.
